Don't talk to me about bagels! They don't have them in Italy. It's TORTURE!
God I would love one with Cream Cheese and ham, or smoked salmon (i'm a savoury bagel gal.)

GUH!
You put the coffee on I'll get the pepper (I am addicted to fresh black pepper, seriously that bagel is dying for some!)
Yum.

You know, I love food. I have eaten confit of duck in Paris, Belgian waffles, Fresh Fries, home made pasta, polenta, and every other type of italian food known to man, Greek souvlaki fresh from the grill on the Korinth canal, fresh Pizza from the ovens of Naples, Rich Bolognese and Lasagne Verde from the red city itself, olive oil fresh from the vine...
But the one thing I want to do more than anything else now.... is go to a real American diner! I don't know if they even exist like I've seen in films and all. But I wanna be able to walk in and order exactly what I want for breakfast and have it made to my specifications. Pancakes with bacon AND syrup. Bacon extra crispy, and plenty of it! Eggs flipped but still runny. Golden brown toast. And have my coffee refilled as many times as I want. And have the waitress serve me with a smile!
Hahaha, most people outside America hate Americans, but whilst I don't necessarily agree with the government, I don't let that affect my judgement of the people. Every American I have met has been so kind and good natured. I want to drive across America. I think I need to recreate Scarlet's Walk - gastronomic style! Hehe...

I have an electric pie baker, made by Sunbeam. Makes two 4 inch round, top and bottom crust. Used to make apple pies for my lunch with it but tonight I made some pork meat pies. Ground pork, grated potato, onion, and celery. Cover with water and cook at low boil till water is gone and meat is well cooked. Line bottom of pie wells with ready to bake crust, fill with meat filling, add top crust and close pie baker, and plug in. Bake for 20min till crust is golden and let cool. These are for my lunch on Wednesday, and to share with co-workers. Here is a pic of my pie maker

I just made the best hamburger, I grind my own meat, no mystery meat for me, just fresh ground steak. This one was Sirloin, very lean and tasty. I have my own meat grinder, had it for over 20 years now.

No one comes to the Cafe anymore. You know, you are all invited anytime. The Cafe never closes. I love turkey and I can't wait till Thankgiving to have some. Turkey is cheap now, I can get a under 15 lb frozen bird for only $6, but I got some fresh thighs for $3. One for the freezer and one to make a great turkey rice soup, with onions, celery and garlic, and rice. I made a big pot and had 2 large bowls for lunch. YUMM!!!
