This is the title which journalists give to artists like Badly Drawn Boy, I AM KLOOT, ... So what do you think about bands which use silence in their music, which use acoustic instruments? Lately I'm into I AM KLOOT and I recently also found 'Kings of Convenience' and 'Turin Brakes' and of course Badly Drawn Boy... And I really love this kind of music. It's really beautiful! Anyone into them? In some way they let me think of Tori, I mean you don't have to play metal to sound really mad or threating. Silence is powerful!

As much as I enjoy silence I still love having my ears pounded by the slowly deafening metal bassy sounds....which brings me to my recent (in the last few months) thought about how much I badly want a semi-acoustic bass. Have you ever seen one of these? The only one I saw was on a Nirvana unplugged clip, I hear they are a very expensive toy.

oh!!!!! in the early music workshop i went to, some people who are so used to the later "classical" music just couldn't give up on the huge vibrato+forte all the time. but when they finally realized how beautiful the quiet bits are, and how much they are nessesary for the stronger bits, everything started sounding so much better. especially when we worked on ending notes, kinda prepering the mood for the slience that follows ;D that's the best part
