I went to this gig tonight... It was in Bruges on a cozy market place and totally for free... During the month August there are loads of gigs in the city and it's soooooo nice!!!! ;D First i saw a Belgian band 'Urban Tred' (sounds a bit like Hevia and Afro Celt Sound System) It was really cool... Lots of dancing... ;D ;D ;D and then i saw 'OI-Va-VOI' (from England) GODDESS!!!!!!!!!!! You ought to see them, or listen to their music!!! It's soooo awsome!!!! They use: a guitar, a bass, a trompet, a clarinet and a violin (preformed by a girl and she could play... my God! and then they use some drum and bass kinda things too... really good, if you get the chance to listen to them, you ought to do! About 'OI-VA-VOI': "Spearhead of the 'new wave klezmer'. Their highly individual sound injects the traditional music of Sephardic Jews and Transylvanian gypsies with dub and breackbeats. The distinctive approach of these "klemorim' has taken them to bar mitzvahs, the NEw York Knitting Factory and also to the prestigious Glastonbury Festival in England" Love, Rasp
