That's probably enough pics for you people who mostly have never heard of sleater-Kinney ;D So I also met Corin and Janet Weiss (one of the most amazing drummers you'll ever see) before the ICA gig. They were just hanging around by the theatre entrance. Corin was on the merch stall, Carrie had disappeared and Janet was either reading magazines or on the internet e-mailing (ICA - Institute of Contemporary Arts has all this sort of stuff inside). Heh was all a bit bizarre. You can't imagine Polly or Tori doing that pre-gig can you? So because I have no shame, after having my ticket signed I went back later and asked Corin if she'd have her photo taken with me. This ended up being quite comical since my camera decided it would fuck up and we were both stood there poised for our photo as Corin's friend tried in vain to get the flash to go on my camera. Managed to sort it out in the end so ...

Well, Thanks a lot Steve, I've had the song you recommended in my head for the past few days. Not to mention that they have been in Spin magazine for 2 straight issues ;D I gave in and listened some more and indeed they rock! I'm trying to find some tracks to dl right now, but I just saw that you also posted about the new album. Is it any good or is this a very dumb question to ask?

As if you needed another reason, pitchfork has also given the new album a score of 9.0.
Check it out.

I think I need a few more listens. I love this album but even long time Sleater-Kinney fans have agreed that it's not the easiest one to get into. It's pretty visceral and raw. Just out of interest Juanita, have you heard anything from the other albums? You might appreciate something like 'All Hands On The Bad One' or 'Dig Me Out' to start off. Personally I like 'One Beat' the most so far but I dunno... Did you know if you go to www.sleater-kinney.com there is a downloads section with a few complete tracks from their back catalogue in mp3 format?

Oh my god thank you for all the links melankolic!!!
I was once in love with a girl who made tapes for me with her favourite music. And Oh of sleater-kinney was one of them, so I fell in love with that song as well.
