I tried to sing today and it came out horrible. I'm not sure why, but my high range has totally disappeared.
I trained my voice to Little Earthquakes and various Switchblade Symphony albums a while back. I naturally have a very low voice for a girl but managed to get it quite high, and now it's all gone.
It's affecting my ability to change between notes in the lower range too..
I feel really depressed. I wanted to have a pretty voice but if I can be set back years after only a week of not practicing it's really disheartening.

Aww hun... I have a horrible singing voice no matter what. lol. There are prolly books or sites out there who can give you tips on maintaining your voice! I don't know much about it, but I do know the following. I'm a primary school teacher and when I was in school (still learning for) we learned about maintaining a good voice, 'cos it's for us important to not lose your voice, as we speak so freaking much every day. - Tiredness - Atmosphere (smoke, dry air, ...) - Alcohol - Unhealthy food Have all an effect on one's voice. We were told to drink A LOT. And to not talk too loud at any time. To breathe propper ect. A technique. There are lots of herbs and stuff you can take for one's voice. And like Spacedog said, sometimes we have a bad day. A voice can get trained tho. I'm sure you can find more info online or in books how to maintain a voice... a singing voice... like I said. Good luck!! Keep believing in yourself!

- The Dog is right. We all have different days. Sometimes it's the mood you're in or the physical side. A good night sleep is a wonderful thing.
- Drink a lot, just like Rasputin said. It's oil for your motor.
- And about singing. Talk to your voiceteacher, if you have one. He/She'll tell you what to do. If you don't have one, GET ONE!

Hmmm, well it's good to practice - but do not over do it eaither. Talk to a song teacher, there's a lot that can be helped with practicing "the right way" (it's easy to do it wrong). Remember: that if it hurts when you sing or something - Don't Sing! just some advice..... Take Care! and Good Luck!
