The Boleyn Inheritance by Phillipa Gregory. Im addicted to her - just finished The virgins lover and The queens fool and im all impatient for the film of The other Boleyn girl.
Also just finished The road of lost innocence by Somaly Mam. which I highly highly reccomend. Its the true story of a cambodian girl who was sold into slavery and prostitution and escaped when she grew up and now rescues other girls. I read it on the plane flying out of Cambodia and nearly got on a plane back to go help I was so moved.

I just finished Super Crunchers (by Ian Ayres, a lawyer and econometrician from Yale), about how our society will become increasingly data-driven. It was pretty interesting, but I think I found some really obvious mathematical/statistical errors in the notes in the back of the book, so I wrote him about it. I'm very curious as to whether he'll write back! ~Lisa Edit: I realize now that it was really just one error: the lack of one decimal point in one equation, which totally made everything he was saying nonsensical and hard to follow. I hope he sees the error and fixes it for future printings!

^^I wrote him about the decimal point too and I actually got a response back! He thanked me for the correction because he's currently working on the manuscript for the paperback, ;D.

Yeah, I teach math at Northern Illinois University. Today was our first day back after the shooting (we had a whole week of mourning). It was strange being back and seeing the students after the tragedy... . He might have already caught the error (or someone else did first) and he could have just been being polite by acknowledging my e-mails, but I was still happy he did. The whole exchange was a welcome distraction. ~Lisa

Neil Gaimans - American Gods (you can find the e-book •here•This book is a complete mind fuck. I have no idea what is going on but I'm loving every second of it. I don't have the time to read it fully lately though. It really bums me out because I wanna know what is going to happen. I'm barely on chapter 4. Work is crazy and I've only time to read bits of it during my lunch break. Speaking of which it's almost over.... Highly recommend it! haha and I'm nowhere near done yet, but its a great read so far. Reason for Editing: working in zombie mode is not a good idea..

^^I loved American Gods! And I feel your pain on not being able to read as much as you would like--you almost want to read it all the way through in one sitting. And I know that if I go *too* long without picking up a book, I basically have to start over because I get lost, . Good luck--great book! ~Lisa
