www.muppetcentral.com/news/2006/020106.shtmlthis is some news on the dark crystal sequel called "the power of the dark crystal" that comes out next year. it is supposed to combine puppetry with cg which kind of scares me for the visual look for it. i have hopes though that the story will live up to that of the first. they show a picture on the site of Queen Kira, which looks pretty cool.

Nah, it was this awful comedy i've never heard about, i didn't even bother watching it. BUT THEN TODAY, i made my research on Limewire more precise, and these past two days well i didn't find anything and i figured 'Duh, it hasn't even come out in dvd anywhere yet', but then today i found it in rather shitty quality crappy colours And it was Walk the Line But i can't care about the quality, i have it and i'll get to watch the movie whenever i want before it really comes out in dvd

Silent Hill!!! the trailer has scenes which look straigh from the game, and it has the music which I love! Wish they'd done a straight re-telling of the story from the 2nd game (the best in the series so far if you ask me). But given that the music is being done by the original composer, supposedly had some heavy input from the original development team, and has some good actors who look like they belong in one of the Silent Hill games, this could be the first videogame based film to actually be good! I really hope they get this one right... It'd get bonus points from me for having Pyramid Head somewhere in there too.

I finally got a copy of Grim Fandango a little while back and had been meaning to play through it for an age, but the damn thing hates being run on WinXP. Bastard! Tangent Time: I've been looking for a copy of Planescape:Torment for bloody years now and can't find the damn thing anywhere. So frustrating as i could have got the DVD 'White Label' release for about £5 at one point.

Teppic apparently Pyramid Head is in the movie! I will post a link once I get un-banned from the forum where the link is. (I apparently posted game spoilers for Project Zero 3!)

Thanks Spacedog. I've actually been to that site and read countless ideas on how to get it working properly several times on various sites and forums, installed regular patches and fan patches, etc. I stopped short of the coping data files stuff simply because i didn't really have the energy to keep messing about, but i'll no doubt get round to trying it eventually. As it stands now i can get into the game and play it - right up to the point where i need to re-enter the main menu for anything, at which point the game just kind of stops working (it's not a crash or lock-up, the game world just kind of stops where you can still walk around but not interact with things properly and all the voice acting drops out - it's weird to say the least, and this is coming from someone who made a living out of finding weird bugs in games for a while! ;D). So i can kind of play it, it's just every time i save a game or change any options i then have to quit out of the game/restart/re-load from save. And yep, i'm one of those nutters who likes to save every 3mins, which makes playing a little bit tiresome... I actually did find a way to get the game to operate correctly with it's menu, by messing around with the Windows compatibility options. Unfortunately, this then stops the cut-scenes from working correctly. Apparently it's because of the hyperthreading on the pc's processor, and it's possible to disable this in the bios which will then allow the game to run as it should during the cut-scenes - but the idea of having to nip in and out of the bios to change settings all the time isn't really one i fancy since i'm way too lazy and would probably keep forgetting to re-enable the HT. Ahhh... The fun of old games and WinXP. This will all surely be far better in Vista. I'm suuuuure.

AHHH! Really? I've been wanting them to do that for ages! I know it was very heavily requested by everyone, but they always said because it was built on a different engine it would have taken them far too much work to get running. I'm glad to hear they finally gave in to demand. I keep meaning to install ScummVM - i have copies all over the place from magazine discs. ;D I really need to get round to finding all the old LucasArts point and clickers. They're so hard to find these days (i always regret not picking them all up when i worked at a games shop for a while because you could buy all these actually quite rare collections of them, but since i didn't have a pc back then it never crossed my mind - hence my frustration about Planescape: Torment being stuck in legal limbo when i could have once had it for a fiver ). It's even really difficult the get the Baldurs Gate RPG's these days - last time i looked it meant importing from the US, and i still wouldn't have got the first game! Grrr!

Psychonauts is fantastic... I really wish it had been given a proper release over here, instead of the constant delays, mistimed advertising, and what ended up being a quiet and almost a-whole-year-later-than-the-US eventual release. That game got royally screwed by a bunch of bad publishers, and then they wonder why it hasn't sold well. *Sigh*"Hey Dogen, what happened to those squirrels?" ;D
