I just read Teppics reply about the game I recently got called The Suffering...
So what games, and what platforms, does everyone play...??
I dont own a lot of games and I dont play all that much, but when I do it is often for a long time and I like to complete them.
We only recently (late last year) got a PS2, as my 11year old sister enjoyed playing the games on my boyfs xbox hdd. He needed it back, and the next week mum bought a PS2.
I prefer the PS2...its nice and little and the controllers are also fairly small.
My favourite games are a series called Project Zero. Japanese horror games where your weapon is a camera. I havent managed to complete the first one yet but have finished the second and third.
I had previously played The Suffering when we had the xbox, and when we got the PS2 I wanted to buy it but could never find it on PS2, only for xbox. I had been thinking of buying Ties that bind (the 2nd one) but had never played it and I find if I havent played it previously so I will wait until I can to buy it (it is pretty cheap over here at the mo. btw $30-40. So Teppic if you play it let me know what its like...

Still haven't got round to playing 'Ties That Bind' yet as all my time playing games has gone on my Xbox360 (i picked up the 'Table Tennis' game thinking i'd be able to just run over it as i'm usually quite good at tennis games - i was wrong and it's been like way back when i bought my first tennis game where even on the easiest setting you get destroyed in every match until you begin to pick up the basics, it all starts coming natural to you, and in my case you learn to stop trying to play it like you were playing a tennis game ). I also decided i'd better finish Silent Hill 3 at last (originally once i realised it was a straight sequel to the first game i stopped because i missed out on the first game and wanted to play through that first, but since i saw the film and it basically tells the same story - just changing the male lead for a female - i figured i know the story enough now to understand the third game, and so far that's proving to be true). As for what game on which systems i have on the go... ;D This post would make my Silent Hill movie review look short if i listed them all. I've been a gamer pretty much all my life and buy all systems which are released in the UK. I even worked in a videogame publisher for a while back in the mid-90's, and every job i've ever had has been in some part of the games industry - so as you can imagine my collection is pretty big. The biggest jewel in my collection is probably 'Panzer Dragoon Saga' on the Saturn, which got a pathetically small release in the UK since the Saturn was pretty much a dead system by then (i worked at a game store at the time and me and the manager grabbed two of the three copies the store was given to sell before they could be put on sale ;D) and now often sells for £300 - £450 second hand. Ironically i've never been able to bring myself to finish the game even tho i'm on the very last section, simply because i loved it so much i didn't want it to end. By the sound of things the game 'Call of Cthulhu' would fit to your tastes perfectly. It's a game that almost never made it to release and was almost completely overlooked when it did come out. Unfortunately it's only released on Xbox and PC, but if you ever get the chance you should check it out (it's a first-person adventure horror game based upon the stories of HP Lovecraft). A game which is released on PS2 which is well worth checking out so long as you don't mind platform games is Psychonauts - another overlooked gem which has some of the funniest and bizarre moments ever in a game, and which was developed by the guy behind some of the greatest PC point and click adventure games (Tim Schafer, most famous for 'Sam and Max'). And speaking of adventure games you might like 'Fahrenheit' which got a PS2 release and tells this bizarre story that can only really be described as the occult crossed with The Matrix - weird but also cool. Anyway, that's some of my own suggestions of games which have kind of slipped past most people recently and deserved to do much better than they actually did. ;D Oh, and one of the all time "great games that never sold well" should get a mention: 'Beyond Good and Evil'. Ignore the fact it looks like a cute Zelda clone and has a bit of a strange start, and you'll find one of the most well-made games of the last generation. Such a shame that it was developed to be a trilogy and sold so poorly that they won't commit to making even the second part (although since it has such a cult following that won't let the idea die, i'm sure a sequel will happen at some point). Okay, i'll shut up before this turns into a giant post (i can talk videogames until the end of time ). There aren't many gamers amongst the Afterglowers, but there are a few that pop out from hiding every so often... (Evelien and SpaceDoggie i'm looking in your directions ).

sorry I have no idea what a Nintendo wii is en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WiiWii (pronounced "We") is the new Nintendo console due to be released sometime at the end of the year (or early next year depending upon where in the world you live). It uses a new type of controller (although there is a traditional style controller too) which resembles a remote control, which uses motion sensing to trigger in-game actions. You can also plug in controller extensions to add extra features, such as the analogue stick shown attached to the controller in this picture: Of course "wee" is English slang for taking a piss, so it's perhaps not the best name ever for a console (the original development codename of 'Revolution' would have probably worked better in some countries). Even better, Nintendo themselves had previously been known to nickname the controller as the "Wand" - hence lots of "playing with my Wii-Wand" jokes. And it gets better still... It's even planned to be made available in yellow (you really couldn't make this stuff up!). ;D

Resi Evil 4 was a fantastic game. One of those games which was so good i found myself not wanting to play it because i didn't want it to end... I have this weird thing with some games where i just find myself not playing a game because i'm enjoying it too much. I know, it's stupid. ;D When that happens with a game i take that long to get round to going back to it that i've forgot most of what happened.

I never really have enough time to play my playstation 2, but when I do I usually play RPGs.
I'm a big fan of Final Fantasy X and X-2. I can't wait for XII in October.

I have a red Gameboy Advance SP, but I don't play on it anymore (although I have 2 great games: NES Classics Pac Man and Wolfenstein 3D). But on the PC I used to play a lot before I got internet. It started with Tomb Raider games, Age Of Empires, Darkan - Order Of The Flame (the greatest game I have ever played, with trackball on the right, and the keyboard on my left hand), Dungeon Keeper (and DK Gold), Diablo and ofcourse Diablo 2 (and expansion). I used to spend a lot of freetime on these games. And when I was a little kid, those small pocket size handheldgames like Pac Man and Donkey Kong where introdused. I was king of Pac Man

yeah, we somehow came across one of the handheld little pacman games, and some other one. It was bright yellow casing and kinda large and a little "B&w" screen, I think it was a circular shape.

I used to play loads of games. Had a NES, SNES, Megadrive, Nintendo 64 and most recently a Gamecube which I bought mainly to play (you guessed it) Resident Evil 4! It's a great game but I haven't played it for ages and not completed it yet so I could pick it up again at some point. It's not that I don't like computer/video games anymore just I like other things more now: music, live music gigs, photography etc I have less time and patience to play games. Also now I work full time so there just aren't that many hours in the day left over. There's definitely other factors too. I don't have a tv in my room so it's not convenient to just switch on the Gamecube or whatever without planning out specifically for gaming. I know I could play games on my PC (occassionally I have done) but I usually get more distracted by the internet whilst I'm there and I am also utterly useless at using mouse/keyboard in fast paced games (e.g. FPS stuff like Half-Life) so I don't even bother cos I know I'm gonna get a caning! I'm good with nintendo joypads but Christ try playing Street Fighter 2 with a keyboard (not that anyone else still plays SF2)!

I am in the same boat with working full time, and it means that there isnt so much time to play, as on my 2 days off I am washing, cleaning animals, and doing other stuff I gotta catch up on. And our PS2 is attached to the main tele, my tv is a tiny one and I dont wanna have to transport the Ps2 down here all the time. So I play only like once a fortnight for a few hours, mainly when no one else is home.
