thefountainmovie.warnerbros.com/Something just tells me i NEED to see this movie it looks great & i love the story..... The Fountain is an odyssey about one man's thousand-year struggle to save the woman he loves. His epic journey begins in 16th century Spain, where conquistador Tomas Creo (Hugh Jackman) commences his search for the Tree of Life, the legendary entity believed to grant eternal life to those who drink of its sap. As modern-day scientist Tommy Creo, he desperately struggles to find a cure for the cancer that is killing his beloved wife Isabel (Rachel Weisz). Traveling through deep space as a 26th-century astronaut, Tom begins to grasp the mysteries of life that have consumed him for more than a century.www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IP_Rjx4wVY

Read a news article about this in the last issue of SFX magazine, and it does sound really interesting. Sounds like one of those films which will keep you thinking or just confuse the crap out of you depending upon how well it's directed. yeah!, just like donnie darko i love those kind of movies ;D

this movie is absolutely beautiful visually speaking AND storywise... moved me so much i cried my eyes out now i've read lots of bullshit/crazy interpretations and i don't think the movie is THAT hard to get - when you strip down the whole thing, the story is pretty simple, it's just the way it is presented that might seem confusing. for those interested, there's the graphic novel too (note: when the original projet w/th brad pitt/cate blanchett was dropped, Aronofsky decided to adapt it as a comic book). i don't think it gives any real keys to understand the story better though, on the contrary - the ending is more 'clearer' in the film than in the gn. there's also this book who's mostly pics and the script - just bought it, not very interesting...

Thanks for this Tinus. I watched the trailer and it seems really good - but it won't be rolling in the theatres here in Sweden until 23rd ... so I'll just have to wait
