I went to see it tonight, and:
first of all: I want to have sex with Snape so bad. SO BAD.
That said - I REALLY enjoyed the movie. I haven't read the book in a long long time, so I don't know exactly what they left out/changed/etc. It's my least favorite book of the bunch, but I liked the movie better than the previous one. My thoughts:
More will come to me later. I think they did a great job making a movie out of such a gigantic book - my dad hasn't read book 5 or 6 yet, so he had no clue what was happening, and he said it was pretty easy to follow. Yah! Now I want to read the book again and go see the movie again!

That said - I REALLY enjoyed the movie. I haven't read the book in a long long time, so I don't know exactly what they left out/changed/etc. It's my least favorite book of the bunch, but I liked the movie better than the previous one. My thoughts:
- Yah! Snape! I just MARVEL everytime Alan Rickman shows up on screen - the way he portrays Snape is just PRICELESS. His little mannerisms (like when Umbridge is inspecting his class and asking him about the DADA position) are so incredible. I could always do with some more Severus (I would've LOVED to have seen more about James/Sirius being obnoxious assholes, but oh well), which brings me to my next thought:
- Occlumency! It's so so so important (especially knowing what happens in book 6 and how Snape stresses it) and I felt like they didn't make it seem like a big deal at all, or at least not as big as it should be (IMHO).
- SO happy there was no Quidditch. I don't always hate it, but we've seen it all before, so yah. Even happier about the lack of Hermione trying to rescue all the house elfs.
- I don't see how you could ever know what happens to Percy unless you've read the books. Is this something in the last movie I missed? Suddenly he's working for the ministry and abondoning his family and it's not mentioned once!
- LOVED Umbridge. I think they did a great job portraying her as a mean mean bitch. Her little giggle was perfect.
- Same goes for Helena Bonham-Carter. She's just absolutely perfectly cast. Her 5 seconds on screen were just perfect, and I can't wait to see more of her. (and GOD I hope Neville gets his revenge in book 7)
- Speaking of Neville - a) LOVE him, and b) I'm sad we didn't actually get to see his parents at St Mungos like we do in the book. They fixed it well (Neville giving Harry his little speech about how Lestrange tortured them and then Bellatrix mocking Neville at the Department of Mysteries), but still.
- The twins leaving was really well done too. It's one of my (and everyone else's, I assume) favorite scenes in the book, and I thought it was great.
- I missed seeing more McGonagall! One of my favorite parts in the book is her sticking up for Harry when Umbridge tells him he can't be an auror, or when she eggs on the ghosts after the twins leave.
- Miss Figg was GREAT. So adorable. The hearing was great great great.
- I thought Dumbledore was really good. I kind of thought he was out of character sometimes in the last movie, but I had no complaints this time around. I missed his big speech at the end (where he explains everything to Harry - one of my favorite parts of the book is where he tells him he didn't make him prefect because he figured Harry would have enough to deal with already and sheds a tear), but he was great. The part where he takes off when they're trying to take him to Azkaban (and Shacklebolts comment) was incredible.
- Visually, I think this movie is the best one yet. When the members of the Order come and pick up Harry and they all fly their brooms into London made me all teary.
- LOVED Luna. Her dreamy voice and random comments were awesome.
- Certain little details foreshadowing the next book were great, like Ginny looking back at Cho and Harry with kind of a jealous look in her eye. Yah! Harry/Ginny love!
- In general, the acting is so much better. I thought Watson did a GREAT job - finally some facials expressions and believable fake laughter! (I also can't believe how pretty that girl has become!)
- Another detail: Sirius in the fireplace talking to Harry was SO MUCH BETTER done than in the last movie when his face appeared in that log. I was so happy to see they changed it, because I HATED that. Also, Harry's reaction to Black calling him 'James' as they were fighting was great, and Bellatrix' sudden appearance killing him was surprising and so well done.
More will come to me later. I think they did a great job making a movie out of such a gigantic book - my dad hasn't read book 5 or 6 yet, so he had no clue what was happening, and he said it was pretty easy to follow. Yah! Now I want to read the book again and go see the movie again!
