here's the trailor: youtube.com/watch?v=WaIR9dAZRR0i saw it today while i was at the theater about to watch I am Legend. I have to say, Heath Ledger looks pretty fantastic. I was sceptical as to whether or not he could pull of the joker, though i never doubted him as an actor (i love heath) it still seemed like a pretty hard task, given that I've never really seen him play an actual character. So Im beyond excited now. And glad to see Maggie Gyllenhaal in there, I like her. MUCH better than Katie.

^ That trailer looks AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! I am SUPER excited!!!! The Joker actually looks and sounds like him... not some stoopid cartoonish joke. (no pun intended) He looks and sounds scary, creepy, weird... I didn't like how they painted him in the past. The Joker is not funny at all. He's the clown of your nightmares for realz. Heath looks like he catched that character. Can't wait!!

Holy crap, I didn't know there was a whole thread on this movie in here!
People are probably sick of me saying this, but I got to work on the set of this movie for a day as an extra! It was actually a really fun experience; at one point I got to be in an action scene in an alley where (presumably the Joker) is randomly firing on people from the top of a tall building and Gotham City police are everywhere trying to figure out where the shots are coming from, etc. I was an innocent bystander so I had to act scared, dive to the pavement, be shielded by police, etc.
Before working on the movie I hadn't even seen Batman Begins and I really didn't know about all the contrasts between this franchise and the earlier ones, but obviously since having that experience, people have told me a lot about it and I rented Batman Begins, so now I'm just as excited as everyone else to see The Dark Knight.

Haha, well, hopefully the scene hasn't been deleted or edited out...I'll feel pretty stupid if I've been telling people about it and then you can't see me at all, but those things do happen, pretty often actually. I'm gonna see it in theaters when it comes out but I have no clue if I'll be able to spot myself or not. Guess I'll just try to enjoy the movie, and if it happens it happens. Btw, to get back to the topic, I think both franchises (the early 90's one and the new one) are good in their own right, but it depends on your tastes. The old ones (at least the first couple of movies) were well done in a cartoony way, while this new one feels like a completely different endeavor; darker and more gritty/realistic. I think they will both be revered in their own ways. I can't really say anything about the really old ones because I haven't seen them. ~Lisa

I actually don't know how I'm going to go now. I'm excited it's Batman, but I don't want to spend the movie unconsciously looking for reasons why Ledger may have gone a bit crazy and had not been able to sleep. I'm sure once June comes I'll be guns a blazin'!

I'm sure once June comes I'll be guns a blazin'! Agreed; it will be a different experience since Heath Ledger has passed. I also was looking forward to telling my students about my experience at the end of the semester and telling them to "look for me" if they go to see the movie, but after the tragedy at the school, telling them about how we had to "act scared" and dive to the pavement and what-not is not nearly as entertaining as it once was. Some of them actually lived that. I probably won't even mention it to them now. ~Lisa

It's going to be so strange to watch it being Heath died. Very creepy. The trailer gives me chills.
