The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold.
This woman writes with the most beautiful language. I'm definitely a fan of her work!

I totally adore Hunter S. Thompson. Rolling Stone did a 12-page spread when he shot himself a few months back which had the most brilliant insights into his life. A lof of guest writers (such as Mr Depp & Del Torro) wrote about their favourite Hunter moments... It was amazing. Read the Fear & Loathing book too if you haven't already. It's a jumbled, beautiful mess - like reading whilst on acid! ;D The world needs more people like Hunter.

Metallica \m/ *probably been discussed already.. but...* I only watched this doco last weekend and was so enthralled by it. Even though some of the physcobabble was annoying I thought it was very brave and honest of the guys to continue with this project. It was an intimate look inside a rock band who have been metal heads since I was in nappies, what a career. When it finished Mike and I decided to put some old school Metallica on and rock around our apartment. I was so pumped!!! (Rasp, what happened to the head banging smiley??) So anyway, I don't think it mattters if you are sceptical or afraid you will turn into a devil worshipping freak , I would recommend this even to my Nanna.

I love scary movies too! Anything that makes me go Funny thing is Mike is more scared than me, he hates horror/suspense films so I don't get to watch them that often anymore (unless I hire them alone). And yes, Child's Play was a freak out when I was young... that and Nightmare on Elm Street... Freddy!!

I watched a New Zealand film last night called. "In My Father's Den". Read about it here: www.imdb.com/title/tt0385017/Harrowing tale, it drew me in from the start.. it's beautifully written and the characters become so real to you, as with the emotions displayed. I would rate this 8/10. Top film.

Teppic, I too lost a part of my damn life with this movie. It was shite. Yea really? I still want to rent that somehow tho, been meaning to for a long time. I had been wanting to see it for a long time as well so was very disappointed. I thought perhaps it would have been a film which translated better to the big screen, but even the scenery shots or the stills of an open window watching a sillouhette of a man playing awful music lasted way too long.. like minutes focussed on nothing. And maybe that was the point, but it was a boring point and could have been more intelligently portrayed I think. Me after watching film: ;D I might rent out My Own Private Idaho again just to give Gus a chance for redemption!

Is "reefer madness' the movie or doco ( I think Woody Harrelson narrates it) based around the propaganda purged by the US government in relation to pot? If so, I have it on DVD. It's scary to think that people belive that smoking a spliff will lead you to murder your family! I mean, fuck, I would have not a single family member left if this was the case ;D It's hysterical, and hysteria - good one. March of the Penguins left me with a feeling of despair and joy. It's awesome Juan - enjoy! xxx

Walk The LineJohnny Cash, he was smashed ;D ! Loved, loved, loved this movie. It had all the elements of a tragic rock star story, but he was saved by the true love in his life. The singing by Phoenix was astounding, and little Reese - a captivating performace from someone who should never return to the Legally Blonde genre of film. Top stuff. Excellent wasn't it Did you watch the extra features, they're great I looooved when Reese Witherspoon sang Wildwood Flower, so beautiful. She sang it really really good And i love It ain't me Babe and I'm going to Jackson I didn't watch the extras but thanks for reminding me that I should! I loved all of those songs too Buggie. When the movie finished we were all singing in Johnny Cash voices for hours afterwards ;D
