I watched '40 year old Virgin' on the plane - good, tacky, if not juvenile humour. Something easy to watch!

the motorcycle diaries, it was really pretty good . . . it had that gael garcia bernal from Y tu mama tambien who's fucking beautiful, not that that was the only reason I liked it . . . um . . . well now it looks that way doesn't it oops I LOVED this film (and Gael Garcia Bernal ) Over the weekend I watched Lost in Translation (again), Bad Boy Bubby (a hideously intriguing Australian cult film) and Wonderland (about a Hollywood porn star turned coke addict who has 4 murders pinned on him - Val Kimer plays a good porn star ).

I finally saw 'the big lewbowsky' today, I've been meaning to see this film for years, but never got round to it till today. omg, it's too funny, 'the dude' rocks! Hey Lebowsky!!! ;D I love this movie. I have a friend who is so obsessed by it that he has 'Dude' parties with his mates where they watch the film, repeat quotes, drink beer.... He watched his VHS copy so many times that it wouldn't play anymore. He now has the DVD..

I finally saw the Aviator last night which was much better than I had imagined. Almost 3 hours long, but this is do-able when I'm at home eating popcorn and have a pause button on my remote ;D. I also got out American Beauty as a weekly cause I haven't seen it in ages, and Dogtown and Z Boys for a bit of skating action!

That is a brilliant movie, and a role in which Hillary Swank totally deserved the Oscar .

Monstor was uncomfortable to watch in many ways, but I was left with an overwhelming feeling of sadness and helplessness for Charlize's character. She was acting out of desperation and coming from a world of twisted childhood nightmares. I'll have to watch it again soon.

Oooh, The Proposition (written by Nick Cave) This is a great movie and depicts the Australian landscapes and early settlement issues quite well. It's very brutal in parts (so Nick!) and the soundtrack is superb!. I don't know about it's international release, or appeal for that matter. Unless you know a bit about Australian history (more than having heard of Captain Cook ;D) it might be a bit of weird film. Mike wants to see Cinderella Man this weekend - anyone seen this yet?

I watched Trainspotting again on the weekend - time to dust off some old flicks. I've read a few of Irvine Welsh's novels which have been great.. but Trainspotting takes the cake. "I chose not to choose life, I chose something else".

I watched 'Million Dollar Baby' and '9 Songs' on the weekend. Farrrrk!
Firstly, Million Dollar Baby was a great film but left me feeling so empty. I couldn't see what was achieved at the end... And I'm certainly not one for sugar-coated endings, but bejeezas, that was so sad.
9 Songs - what's with all the sex, sex and more sex?? ;D It was basically a porn film broken up by 9 songs. Not one to view on a Sunday afternoon!

They start showing 'Lost' here on the Belgian tv channel!! I can not wait!! It starts on the 19th of September... whoowhooo! The first series of LOST finished here a few week's ago and i miss it!! I'm not much of a series TV viewer but this was really something out of the box. I can't wait for series 2 but I imagine the mean old TV barons will make us wait until the next rating season begins (ie: FEB 2006)

I LOVED Beetlejuice & Edward Scissorhands! They were dark but really different to the general movies pitched at children. They really opened my eyes to a new world of film.
I saw "Open Water" at the weekend and fuck me, what a scary film. I wasn't expecting too much from this but I thought it was written & directed so very well. It's scared me off scuba diving for life!!
