Some band called Eisley ( www.eisley.com) which I'm quite liking. Another random recommendation from someone months ago!

I have heard one secret song, I think 'silver'... So there are more then one? Yeah 'Silver Cane' it might be called. I think that song is great. Lovely (almost certainly autobiographical) words and great moody guitar. There is one more short (but gorgeous) track 18:40 mins after 'Firewood'.

Glad you're loving the Marf, Sarah It's a really good album. I also like Brighton Song, Cycles (though I prefer it live), and Red particularly. Ooh yeah... did you hear the hidden songs yet?

Zero 7 - In the Waiting Line I actually saw Sophie Barker last night. She has a solo record out now and was playing a small gig in Camden. She even played a great acoustic version of this song If you like her voice have a look at www.sophiebarker.com. You can listen to two complete tracks from her album 'Earthbound'.

Oh Teppic, I am liking 'PJ' Phillipson! I see she is supporting Turin Brakes at Shepherds Bush Empire soon! That gig is sold out but there's a couple of people selling tickets on eBay so I might go if I can get a reasonsbale priced ticket. I quite like Turin Brakes too so it could be a good one!

I dont have the lyrics for this but im listning to Beth Gibbons and Rustin mAN-Mysteries ,i have never heard anything by her before ,i just found this cd with different artists on it,in an old box ,tonight while looking through some things, Its such a sad song so it has me crying but in a good way WOW Onother great song on there by a guy called Ryan Adams-Dear chicago- Beth Gibbons is one of my favourite ever, ever vocalists. As Cheapie says she was (and I hope still is?!!) with Portishead but has taken time out to make 'Out of Season' with Paul Webb (AKA Rustin Man and formerly of Talk Talk and O.Rang). Bloody gorgeous album ... try to get hold of a copy if you can. It's special. While you're at it try 'Dummy' and 'Portishead' by um...Portishead! Quite different from Out of Season but also brilliant. Ryan Adams I quite like bits and pieces of. Very talented guy. He is a good friend of Carina Round and they wrote songs for each other (Carina's one being Motel 74) and one together called 'Idiot Dance' which they have performed live ages ago I've been told. I'm not currently listening to anything as I type but lately I have being playing Polly's Uh HUh Her a lot!

I suppose technically she has quite a strong voice but the singer from M People (Heather Small I think?) ... her voice really bugs me!! ;D

Indeed she does! Bugg, Teppic, Sid this warms the very cockles of my heart to hear that you all like Beth too! I met her last October when she played her debut concert with Rustin Man and she is absolutely lovely. Incredibly shy but endearingly so! www.bethgibbons.com ... just have to give her a little plug for the uninitiated ... btw what the hell are 'cockles of the heart' anyway?
