This is always a trend with her haha. I hope to have a new album from her soon but my expectations are always low.
I dunno, I have never felt a strong artist to fan connection with her. I understand her background and issues and what not so I let it slide.
I went to see her live after the release of Extraordinary Machine and I was less than impressed and it made me sad since I have been a fan since the beginning. She did not connect with the audience and the sound wasn't as wonderful as I expected. Have you seen her live?
Wow---reading that back is quite depressing. Don't get me wrong, I love her music!

She (recently?) did a cover called "Why Try to Change Me Now" for a tribute EP to Cy Coleman (it's really good, by the way!) so at the very least, she's doing something. I'd take that as a sign that she's up for working on an album soon, but I might just be hopeful. I don't feel a strong fan-artist connection to her either. Huh. I never really thought of that. I absolutely love her music, though so that's strange.

I know I LOVE her! It's a shame that not many people feel a connection to her... Cause I kinda do. She did an awesome interview on the Late, Late Show after EM that I love to watch. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EzEC61AHi0I think she's just really really not into fame, which is fine in my opinion. She produces wonderful albums... but yeah, I am liking Tori more of late cause she is so brilliant live as well as on the albums, but I don't think live is Fiona's thing. Which is a shame.

Thanks for the "Why Try To Change Me Now?" tip Mel!
I just found it on YouTube and I'm falling in love with her again!

I love her music but I've always felt disconnected from her as a fan. Especially after she made that snide remark about Tori being a "poster girl" for rape

I must say, though, that "Never Is A Promise" is in my top 10 songs of all time. Magnificent!

I totally agree with you guys... love her music but there is a disconnect somewhere - as a fan. I'm missing Extraordinary Machine - someone borrowed it an never gave it back. Butthole!

Thanks for posting that! *sigh* I miss her! 3 albums in 13 years -- but at least all three are perfect (IMO). I still hope she releases an album soon. Though I'd rather she wait until she feels she has something to say than just put an album out to put it out. Does anyone know if her contract is up?

I don't know the details of her contract, but I've been watching allot of interviews with her on YouTube and a few times she mentions that she doesn't write music unless she's really sad and she "has to" - if she's happy she doesn't want to be sitting at a piano writing music. (I think she even mentions it in the interview posted here a few posts up.) So maybe she's happy? Hopefully she's learning to write even when she's happy a'la Tori. I miss her too
