I was curious to know... which was the 1st record in your collection, the first one you bought? I think mine was Madonna's Like a Virgin!!!! on vinyl of course, in the pre-CD days!!! I might've been 10-12 years old and was very into Madonna!!! I actually have all her early albums on vinyl and some singles too, including the La Isla Bonita maxi single!! I got some pretty embarrassing albums from that era, like Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, Kylie & Jason, even Paula Abdul!!! but they're all vinyl so maybe one day they'll be worth a fortune (or not I was young you see...

My god, I was so in love with her. So obsessed(I was 13!). Tori Amos crazy fan type of obsessed. Thank god I outgrew that! ;D It's a great album though. I go back and rediscover these songs so many times.

The 1st CD I ever bought (cos we were already well into CD supremacy by the time I was old enough to buy my own music ) was a single...and I'm rather ashamed to say it was Whigfield - Saturday Night www.youtube.com/watch?v=SI6KTW0Z-4Y I was 10 though! The first album I remember buying was another embarassing one but I was in full on screaming teenage fangirl mode ...it was Boyzone - Said & Done

My first CD was 'The Dark Side of the Moon'. I bought in 1993, I guess. Then there was Tori, Alanis, No Doubt, etc.

Tiffany? Good luck with that! ;D I too had a Madonna "Who's that Girl", and a Michal Jackson "Man in the Mirror" vinyl, but I gave em away cuz they were just pretty much sitting there. I didnt have the heart to throw em away.

First cassette: First cd: I didn't buy that much in my teens, my dad has a music library, he has over 5000 vinyls and as many cd's. I grew up with Bob Dylan, Frank Zappa, Janis Joplin, The Beatles, The Ramones, The Cure, The Rolling Stones, Kate Bush, ...
