I know what you're saying SpaceDoggy Dude... Tho everything i've read about 'V for Vendetta' has been utterly raving about it! I wasn't sure about it going just from the previews, but now i'm dying to see it. And it's worth remembering that filming started before The Brothers Matrix got involved (tho they did make some pretty big changes once they were on board so i've heard).
As talented as Alan Moore is, he's a bit of a grumpy old man when it comes to Hollywood touching his work (makes you wonder why he lets them, tho i'm sure the huge cheques have absolutely nothing to do with it... ahem). He was slagging the 'V for Vendetta' movie off before it even started shooting. ;D
Anyway, from what i know it has quite a few changes from the comic, but apparently they all make sense within the framework of the film (in fact i read one review from a relatively trusted mag that even said the changes improved one or two of the characters over the original comic versions). It's not supposed to be quite the Hollywood hatchet job that say ...'Constantine' ended up being.
I just wish they weren't advertising it as "From the makers of The Matrix!", because quite honestly the second i heard that line i thought it was a huge mistake and would put a lot of people off instantly.

I saw the V for Vendetta book today at the comic shop (along with a History of Violence). is V worth reading?

I personally haven't got round to reading it yet (i'm buried under so much stuff to read at the moment - one more book and i swear i'm gonna get crushed! ;D), but everyone who has read it seems to rave like crazy about it. As they seem to do with pretty much all Moore's stuff in fact. So going from what i've heard: yes, definitely worth a read.

Scrap rocks! The first Iceage was on tv last night, such a fun movie!
I rented out 'Last Days', a Gus Van Sant film that was loosely based around Kurt Cobain's final moments on earth. SHIT MOVIE! BORING! GOES NOWHERE! WASTE OF MY TIME! ;D I didn't like it too much.

I thought perhaps it would have been a film which translated better to the big screen, but even the scenery shots or the stills of an open window watching a sillouhette of a man playing awful music lasted way too long.. like minutes focussed on nothing. And maybe that was the point, but it was a boring point and could have been more intelligently portrayed I think. Me after watching film: ;D I might rent out My Own Private Idaho again just to give Gus a chance for redemption!
