I heard a rumor that "they" are going to be making qa sequel to The Goonies with all of the original cast, but really featuring thier children. And that would make me complete I think. Hmm...that's somewhat intriguing, . I wonder if Cyndi Lauper would do the soundtrack again...that would kick ass! The last time I saw the redhead from Goonies (I think her name was Karen Greene maybe?) she was doing a guest spot on ER. She played the overwhelmed wife of a Christian zealout, pregnant with her fifth or sixth child and briefly contemplating an abortion before being once again successfully intimidated and brainwashed (er, I mean, forgiven) by her husband. ~Lisa

I wonder how they would pull this off though and what about Sloth? who or what or how or....hahaha. And I agree with littlecricket. Cindy Lauper doing the soundtrack would just be superb! After how much "the village" sucked, I just dont know . bring it on! ;D

Oddly enough Charlotte's Web and Alice In Wonderland rate among my favourite book (in fact they're probably my favourite children's books, end of.) I find the sound of 'Alice' a bit disturbing, I have to say.
I'm currently looking forward to 'A Scanner Darkly'. Always up for a bit of Richard Linklater.

I just saw an independent U.S. movie called Little Miss Sunshine, and it was great! It was about a somewhat dysfunctional family with a little girl named Olive (who is very cute and sweet and just a natural, slightly pudgy little girl with glasses) who wants to compete in a beauty pageant, and the hijinks that ensue when her family tries to get her to a state pageant over a weekend. It's a funny, touching movie and it basically takes a shit on child beauty pageants, so it's great! I highly recommend it! ;D
And I am STILL very much looking forward to seeing Marie Antoinette and Stardust. I also would like to see Half Nelson, another American independent movie, this time about a dedicated inner city history teacher and girls' basketball coach who also happens to be addicted to crack. At first I wasn't that interested in seeing it, but I've heard some amazing reviews.

same here, though unfortunetly, I feel the preview/trailer pretty much reveals the whole entire movie, thus ruining it for me. After how much "the village" sucked, I just dont know . This feels like a rental to me. If the main reason that you didn't like The Village was because it turned out to be a very different film from the one which was advertised, then don't worry. I want to be a bit careful what i say because i don't want to ruin The Village for anyone hasn't seen it (watched without any preconceptions it's a much better film), but i was also a bit disappointed with The Village and loved Lady in the Water. It's the film that it claims to be from start to finish (if you get my meaning...). And hey - over there you may not have to pick a fight with some chav bastard in the last 5mins of the film! ;D

haha I was just about to call you a 'tease' in the other thread for not telling us what happend when you guys saw this movie! hehe, cant wait for the details! and I didnt like the Village cuz it was a very disappointing predictable movie( I guessed what was gonna happen 30 minutes into the film). The acting was great, but I lost interest very fast and kept looking at my watch and laughing at my sister who got scared at this crap ;D. And from what I've heard about Lady in the Water doesnt exactly make me wanna go see it either. The good reviews do not outweigh the bad ones. I dont tend to listen to reviews(or critics mind you) but I just dont wanna waste 10 bucks on something I already feel I will hate ;D So I'll rent it when it comes out I hear "The Descent" is a great scary movie, but I got no one to go with me. Have any of you guys heard of/seen this one?

I have The Decent on DVD (it came out ages ago over here - think the DVD has been out at least a year now). It's a quality British horror film. It's not anything super special, but it's an enjoyably bloody way to pass an hour and a half. If we're talking Brit horror then i think that Creep is slightly better. If you like your horror films i'd say it's worth going to The Decent tho - unless you get claustrophobic, in which case avoid it like the plague! ;D Lady in the Water... Actually, given what you've said you may not like it then. Especially if you go into all Shyamalan films with the idea of trying to spot what the twist will be. You really do have to go into it with the idea that it's some fairytale he made up on the spot to entertain his kids, which he then developed into a movie. As for the reviews the critics have been out for his blood for ages now. In fact there's something written into the film which outright is intended to piss the critics off, and it seems to have done it's job. The one complaint i've read which i could understand was that the cinematography wasn't anywhere as special as in his previous films, which is true but i think also intentional - you're meant to understand that this fairytale is happening in the real world of a block of flats, which is otherwise full of plain colours and uninteresting environments. The thing which seems to have made most critics rip the film apart is that Shyamalan wrote a big role for himself in the film (not just the cameo's of his previous films). That's led to a lot of people calling him vain and self-important. I could actually see their point but for one thing - he plays the part wonderfully. It's understated and he never tries to steal a scene. I think the main problem is that people just can't stop themselves from seeing Shyamalan instead of the character (which is a pity, but not unheard of - just ask Tom Cruise!). But then again, it makes sense that he's in it given where the idea came from. You should definitely rent it as you said at some point tho Juanita. Who knows, maybe going in with lesser expectations and having heard more of where the film is coming from, you may be surprised and enjoy it.
