I feel so sorry for him Indeed, he was my absolute fav character of the books & films, adored him...was so sad to read the last few chapters of Deathly Hallows Then again to be honest I kind of expected him to be killed regardless of whether he was good or evil so I sort of built myself up to reading it, knowing it would happen somewhere in the books...still it was so sad

If you do TRULY want it spoiled I can send you a PM with the main plot points but I seriously would just read the book instead...it's always better to read it withou tknowing what happens beforehand Perhaps steal a copy off someone until you buy it yourself, I'm sure there are plenty of people reading it on trains/buses etc ;D

Haha, thats the thing. No one I know has the book. I drive, so I dont take public transport. I can see it on the news already: "Crazy local poor woman stole away the latest Harry Potter book from unsuspecting kid on the metro today..." I know its best to not know whats going to happen, but I honestly dont mind. I had already been spoiled on what happened on the sixth book and it still affected me. I mean, well, you know .

^ I sent you a PM with quite possibly one of the most rambling pieces of nonsense ever written so it probably doesn't make any sense anyway...but seriously if you don't want to be spoiled then do NOT read a word of that PM

I am up to The Wedding chapter (I read really slowly)... I already knew most of who was going to live and who die...When I got home with the book my mum (she knew I was going to get it from cheapo Kmart) asked me as soon as I walked in "did you get harry potter"..."yes" ..."can I see it, who dies?" "I havent looked at it yet" Poor mum, I was out all day as I went to a womens safety seminar (and got to go on tv...not only were the harry book buying fans on tele that day!) she must have spent the whole day sitting around being feverish and delirious (Flu's going around) wondering who was going to die... im glad Hary doesnt die, I didnt want him to, but at the same time...If it wasnt meant to be primarily a kids book, I woulda liked Harry to die...

Indeed, he was my absolute fav character of the books & films, adored him...was so sad to read the last few chapters of Deathly Hallows Then again to be honest I kind of expected him to be killed regardless of whether he was good or evil so I sort of built myself up to reading it, knowing it would happen somewhere in the books...still it was so sad I think I was about 90% sure that Snape would not survive the book even though he was good (and 100% in case he would have turned out to be indeed evil) so I was really prepared to see him die, but that didn't make it less sad I wished he had a bit a "better" end and not just got bitten by that stupid snake, just so that Voldemort could become "real" owner of the Elder Wand... (btw: damn you Voldemort! you totally deserved him not being on your side! ) im glad Hary doesnt die, I didnt want him to, but at the same time...If it wasnt meant to be primarily a kids book, I woulda liked Harry to die... yeah, it would have been more consequent in my opinion to really let him die. though I don't like characters dying and secretly often hope there could be a happy ending for everyone, I'm really NO fan of such "resurrections", especially not when the the character that died, had hero-like sacrificed his own life. it takes away credibility from the sacrifice when this death isn't really real/final anyway, I think there was virtually no chance that she would really let Harry die, it's still a children/teen book after all and a "mainstream" ( , I mean with the "classic" hero-fighting-evil structure...) one too. she couldn't kill off her main hero...I think there might have been a possibility that either Ron or Hermione die, but not even that happened.... "only" Mad-Eye and Fred and Dobby and Remus AND ( ) Tonks (and Hedwig) of the inner circle... and Snape

I felt soo sad when Hedwig died. The same goes for Dobby I also got a bit giddy at the part where they are all fighting, Bellatrix nearly hits Ginny with killing curse and Mrs. Weasly retorts with "Not my daughter YOU BITCH!" I almost cheered very loudly like a dork

I finished it last week, really didnt want it to end...Just loved it...Such a perfect read. I am wanting to re-read the whole series now.... I found Snapes recount sooo harrowing...I always knew he was good, and every time at the end of the book it turned out he was still seen as evil I would just get sooo disappointed! I am so in love with all the good side characters after this...esp Neville! just thinking about it is making me I would love to see this magically world continue, poss focusing on other characters...I think it would be interesting to see what changes were implimented after Voldemort went down...

In the first pictures of this thread I only see the so-called Children's Edition of the cover, just like I've seen almost everywhere in (book/grocery)stores and in the window of shops. But we have the Adult Edition (I myself never read a single line in a HP novel): I myself prefer this cover over the Children's Edition. But I wonder if the text in the children's edition has some kind of censorship in it (using more subtle descriptions to the things that happen in the book) or not.
