It's not supposed to come out until sometime in 2008, but I'm really anxious to see The Lovely Bones. It was a great book and the whole time I was reading it I was thinking about what a great movie it could be. Peter Jackson is making it, so I'm hoping that it will be as pretty as the LOTR series. Also, Ryan Gosling is going to be in it and I've totally got the HOTS for him. ;D I'm crying already. I hope they do the book justice *shakes fist* They're also doing a movie of "The Bell Jar" focusing on the "lighter side of the novel"! WTF? Happy, happy, ECT, happy happy insulin injections, happy happy, suicide attempts. I am not amused.

Omg.. really looking forward to Stardust (even without the Tori Tree), I am a big fan of The Bob, so I am looking forward to I'm Not There... With Cate Blanchett as The Bob!!! I would also give my left arm to see Heath Ledger (who grew up in the same town as me) to finally do a movie where he plays Nick Drake!!!! Ledger says he has been interested in trying to bring the life of the '70s singer Nick Drake on screen. "For the longest time I was obsessed with his story and I pursued it and still have plans to tell his story, but they faded because he was a mysterious figure and it would be a process of me guessing what he would say and how he walked and so I felt like I would be defaming him." You can do it Heath!!! As a die hard Nick Drake fan, I really think his story needs telling. Hell, I went out with a guy once just because he looked like Nick Drake!

Saar, i'm pretty sure you'll like Stardust, unfortunatly they cut so much of the book, not only the tori-tree part... but it's still magical I recently saw The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things. The white trash exploitation film genre adds a new family member. Don't watch this film. It is based on an "autobiography" by "JT LeRoy" (who was found out to be a 40 year old woman pretending to be a 24 yo street hustler last year), and will offer you nothing! Just. No. saw it in a festival loooong before the JT Leroy hoax was revealed and i loved it, mainly caus Asia Argento directed it (i simply cannot express how much i LOVE this woman). her performance as sarah is breathtaking, she seems truly possessed by the character... so much the whole experience was very devastating to her (she even considered suicide after wrapping up the film). of course the movie might lose its charm knowing the truth about JT Leroy, but it's interesting to see - just not for everyone, as it deals w/th disturbing issues as child abuse, prostitution, etc. the first 5 min were the hardest for me, but after you kinda get "used to it" (like the main character). Hmm... I kinda agree with you Mina, we have similar taste in films (love your avatar, BTW). Asia was awesome. The little boys were awesome actors. But if you are not familiar with the genre (ala Harmonie Corine or Larry Clarke) or the back story, I really would not suggest the film. As a book to movie translation, it is really good. I was very impressed. I loved the book to death. I admit, I am biased against Laura Albert and JT LeRoy, now that it has been exposed. That the movie cover announces it as a TRUE STORY from the AUTOBIOGRAPHY of JT LeRoy infuriates me as it is manipulative. If the producers said that it was from the book, that's fine. But selling it as 'real' and 'true' shits me. I agree to disagree.

I refuse to watch the Da Vinci Code. I even refused to buy it for my dad when he asked for it for his birthday. Gah! I recently saw The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things. The white trash exploitation film genre adds a new family member. Don't watch this film. It is based on an "autobiography" by "JT LeRoy" (who was found out to be a 40 year old woman pretending to be a 24 yo street hustler last year), and will offer you nothing! Just. No.

Yeah. The Break Up. I don't get Vince Vaughn's appeal. He's funny, I guess. I just spent the movie looking at how cool Jennifer Aniston's watch looked. It looked really nice, but expensive.

Wow. My God. These chocodiles, Hayley, these chocodiles, oh my god.
I just saw Perfume. It's one of my absolute favourite books and I haven't found the time to see it yet (with my busy procrastination diet and all), but I saw it tonight. It is absolutely amazing. I'll give it an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a BAFTA equivalent of whatever they have for German filmmakers. Read the book, see the movie. My god.

The Simpsons movie. I was rattled at the things that they didn't bleep out fo' the kids. Like Homer giving everyone the finger when he was going down the sinkhole, Bart's willy, "Boob lady," but I don't have fucking children, so I don't have to explain to them everything, so party on Wayne!

haha. Ok, I don't go to movies to watch anything believable. I mean, if it were up to me, she coulda gotten the abortion and there would be no movie Problem solved. I totally agree. Abortion is not the dirty word it was so long ago... they should have just done a short ten minute film and called it... "Knocked Up... and then... not." The trailer would got something like... "Ben Stone (Seth Rogen) is a 23-year-old slacker, whereas slightly older Alison Scott (Katherine Heigl) is responsible and career-minded. One night, Alison and Ben find themselves at the same club, have a one night fling which leads into a misinterpretation of the phrase "just do it already", but when the alcohol wears off, they quickly learn they have little in common. Eight weeks later, however, Alison discovers that she is pregnant and contacts Ben, who says he will be there to support Alison having the baby. The odd couple's efforts to develop a relationship include a marriage proposal from Ben. Alison, unbeknown to Ben, visits an abortion clinic. Alison kills Ben with a tampon applicator." 'Knocked Up... and then... not' coming soon to theaters near you. Shame really... I loved Freaks and Geeks. Reason for Editing: My cat's breath smells like cat food.

I am a huge fan of Philip Roth, especially of his book "the human stain" and I didn't know there was a film! I just stumbled across it by accident on TV and it was brilliant, it was very well done with wonderful actors like Nicole Kidman and Anthony Hopkins. Worth watching! This is one of these stories that make you think for weeks and weeks. I absolutely love adore and worship Philip Roth. The Human Stain is an amazing book. I collected so many quotes from it as well as just adoring it. It is fantastic! I liked the film, but really enjoyed Nicole Kidman as Faunia...I was very suprised by liking her as I very rarely like books made into films and like even less how ppl play the characters. "No matter how many times I got blown over I was still standing. That was my downfall." If any Roth fans havent read it The Plot Against America and American Pastoral are well worth a read, as are most of his older novels. *adds The Plot Against America and American Pastoral to list of books I will delight in reading after Thesis is finished and handed in*
