I wanna see pictures!!!!!! Do you call those bands (classic) goth? I thought they were called "darkwave"! And I don't like to refer The Cure a gothic band. It used to be new wave (I LOVE "Killing An Arab" and "A Forest"!). for me they are classics indeed... you have to remember all these mouvement names were created by music journalists though. The Cure is always referred as a goth band, although they never called themselves this way. Joy Division has been called goth as well. what is goth anyway? we still don't know where the term comes from and when it started to spread. some say it's 1979, when Siouxsie and The Banshees used the word 'gothic' to describe their album Join Hands. i mean geez, some even call The Doors and The Velvet Underground gothic! the debate is getting pretty insane sometimes. we could talk about this for hours i guess.

i got a couple of albums from Within Temptation and The Crüxshadows, thanks to my goth ex-bf. it's nice to listen to, but not really my thing. personnally i'm more into 'classic' goth bands like Siouxsie and The Banshees, Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, Virgin Prunes and of course The Cure...

i love them since 11 years now. the first time i heard/saw The Cure, it was on tv with the video for "In Between Days". i was something like 10 years old and thought Robert Smith was the coolest person i've ever seen. i had to wait a few more years to get their albums though. i'm a bit sad i haven't seen them live that much... but i was at the Trilogy concert in Brussels! man, that was so good - nearly 4 hours of pure bliss. Pornography is without any doubt my favorite album. i really hope they'll tour again soon...
