I'm hopefully going to see a singer called Carrie Tree at a venue called The Grey Horse (it's a pub with a stage really) near where I live tomorrow (or today technically)! Some of you might like her, she has the most beautiful voice. I mentioned her before when we were talking about Damien Rice as Carrie supported him on his tour last year. Anyway you can hear 4 songs on her website www.carrietree.com/asp/music2.aspMaya is my favourite

Saw Carrie again at a small acoustic bar in Kings Cross called the Lincoln Lounge this week. It was really nice as I ended up chatting to her and some of her muso friends and she signed my CD sleeve for me and drew a little picture on it ;D Heh she even offered to let me borrow one of her old guitars as I'm thinking of learning to play at last! I've been in the local music shop and I really want an electro acoustic now! They are a bit pricey though

Went to see Carrie tonight at the Wupa Dupa night in The Grey Horse pub in London. It was really wonderful ... I've come away feeling all smiley and gooey on the inside! It's just the nicest atmosphere in there - I wish I could take you all along! ;D She played in a little room at the back of the pub ... candle lit, cushions on the floor and free cake (made by the musicians themselves) on the few tables around the back of the room. After Carrie played a beautiful set there was more music from Sugardrum. It was really good too. The vocalist, Nigel, was supported by Beth and Matt from Semble (some of you might remember I mentioned this band before in the Martha Tilston thread?) and on the last song the audience were given rhythm instruments (bongo drums & that sort of thing) to play along with the band! I don't think I have much rhythm but it was fun regardless! You can hear some of Carrie's songs from her first EP on her website. Here are the links if you are willing to give her a listen... She has a new EP coming out soon and live Carrie also plays the odd cover version such as Portishead's 'Glory Box' or 'A Case Of You' by Joni Mitchell. She also did a version of Ani DiFranco's 'Gravel' at a recent gig which was cool Some pics... Carrie with Damien Rice
