Sid and I went to this last night. I thought she was amazing www.marthatilston.co.ukI suppose you would describe Martha as a folk singer. Wouldn't think that was my kind of thing usually but have been getting into quite a lot of artists of this ilk lately. The support band Semble were excellent too (despite some comedy technical sound problems early on ). They have quite a unique, original sound. Guitars, violin, bass, flute, drums, cello, electronic samplers! www.semble.co.uk/Also have a little look at www.wupadupa.com who organise all the gigs for Martha, Semble and various other artists. Carrie Tree is also associated with them. Free cake at every Wupa Dupa gig!

I know! Since the end of last year I have been going to a ton of gigs! I'm lucky in that I don't have a full rent to pay at the moment so I have a reasonable amount of disposible income each month to fritter away on gigs and records ... also living in London there are always lots of amazing artists playing! Some more stuff I'm going to.. 17th March - Patti Smith 26th March - Zero 7 31st March - Cat Power 8th April - Sia 13th April - Auf der Maur 10th June - Thea Gilmore 23rd June - PJ Harvey (!)

Yep, you're so lucky. Lots of artists come to Brussels... but for me it's a long drive... so I don't go often. I do go to festivals a lot... well I used to...

oh that thing...
;D Yeah makes sense now!
Sid, did you get both Semble & Martha's albums? Just wondering what you think? I was playing them last night.
I love that 'Night Rambling' track on Martha's and All Of 'Your Words' on the Semble album is really good. My initial favourites!
