I've been discovering some lovely foreign music, like the Japanese Kagrra and Egyptian Natacha Atlas. Haven't heard everything by them, but they're good. And now I must download some of the bands/singers you all named, I love discovering new music.

You know her! That's so cool. Almost everyone I know has never heard of the music I listen to, especially Natacha Atlas. I love her voice, so sensual

Just reviving this thread because it's good Throwing a few names out there... Bloc Party
The Raveonettes
KT Tunstall
Audioslave
Emiliana Torrini
Bright Eyes
Rilo Kiley
Chikinki
Joy Zipper
Elysian Fields
Buck 65
New RhodesNot all 'new discoveries' strictly (some I've known about for a while) but I'd just be interested in who else likes these artists or even knows them... Some I have been to see live or am going to see and others I have just heard some positives about and am trying to find out more....

Elysian Fields!! I have 1 album of theirs & love it. I was actually listening to that this afternoon, funnily enough. The singer has a similar same sort of voice to Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star) - gorgeous! Emiliana Torrini too.. Seeing her in April, (Yes, Steve, I know you know ) can't wait, 'cos I've really grown to like her new album..

I know Quinn likes Elysian Fields...so do some friends of mine and Steve...I have one Rilo Kiley album 'More Adventurous'...I dunno...I like some songs, but its not my type of album. I just find myself skipping songs. I mostly like the first 5 and I still cant get over that the singer is the same girl that came out in those 80's movies with Fred Savage ;D(damn it, I cant think of the title right now , you know, the video game one? anyhoo... )
