Billy Corgan just released his first Solo-Album and now he talks about reuniting the Smashing Pumpkins! I can't find any english written news right now, but there are news about it on German pages.

I love that caption under that pic... "The old gang...Billy even has hair..." hehehe... Well, I'm not keen on Melissa, I don't think it's a good idea to reform the Pumpkins like this, not with new people anyways. He'll never be able to get the same sound or same atmosphere as the wonderful Pumpkins, if you know what I mean?

I love billie! Since the smashing pumpkins broke up it hasn't been the same. If they are reuniting, It would be nice to hear them all evolved but doubt it will be as great as their former music.

I think they could do it. James developed himself in other bands (f.e. A Perfect Circle), Jimmy is always the same old freak and to be honest, I love Melissa. I think she is gorgeous, her Solo-Album was enjoyable and she looks unbelievable beautiful (yeah, let's be superficial). I heard that she is recording a new Album right now, so this Pumpkins reunion would be a topic in 2 years, anyway. I doubt D'arcy would join up, this woman is just to fucked up right now. Too much plastic surgery and cocaine I have the feeling that Billy could unfold his talent only with the Pumpkins. And after 5 years they should enjoy playing together, again I would like to see a reunion, I am not afraid that it could be a big sell-out

I doubt D'arcy would join up, this woman is just to fucked up right now. Hey that was years ago. She's been living peacefully with her husband in barns with horses in her farm in Michigan, and also Texas. And Jimmy's not a freak Were you saying that positively? Billy and Jimmy are still best friends, they would be the two real Pumpkins. Melissa's great but wasn't a real Pumpkin and James is really cross with Billy. And Billy with James too. Plus, James' all busy with his bands, and also he's doing fashion etc. I don't see how it can work. I don't want new non-Pumpkins in the Pumpkins

I don't see how it can work. I don't want new non-Pumpkins in the Pumpkins I don't see it work either... and frankly, if it's not the original line-up then it doesn't need to happen for me personally. The Smashing Pumpkins had this energy, this vibe. I do not see it happen with non-Pumpkins (as Hanna calls them ;D) nor do I see it even with the original Pumpkins. I do not see them make a new album and then tour and sing their older stuff, just like in the old days. This would be so unnatural... well in my eyes anyways... I dunno if I make sence... They never should have split up, maybe take a break? But that's maybe easy to say for me, as there were prolly things been said to each other ect.

No absolutely! The Pumpkins rocked and they were a 90s band and that's something to be proud of! They survived and never did "sell out" and *grabs tissue* I love the Pumpkins and...
;D
No but yea, all these 13 year old new fans are going hysterical and are really happy but i'm not optimistic if Billy goes thru with this.

Anything that means we see more of Melissa Auf Der Maur gets my vote... There was an interview with Billy in the latest issue of Guitarist magazine. He described Jimmy as being like his brother. For what it's worth i think it could work. I mean the Pumpkins changed their sound quite a lot throughout their time, so it's not like they're forced to aim for any particular sound.

*Cynic hat on* Perhaps it could be a last grab for cash? Reform the band, do a world tour, cash in on the nostalga that surrounds Pumpkins music?
He's coming to Australia on his solo tour soon, I didn't know whether to buy tickets or not but am still considering it. The ghost of Pumpkins past!!!

Anything that means we see more of Melissa Auf Der Maur gets my vote... ah, finally, someone who can see it from my point of view And HannaBumma: I always say "freak" at something positiv. I love Jimmy, he is great, saying "he is the same old freak" means, that he is still super-cool And to D'arcy: www.awfulplasticsurgery.com/archives/004981.html

I know, she was my hero, too when I was 13 ;D I can't even remember why. I still think she was cool in the band, but after she left the Pumpkins she totally lost it. I hope she is doing fine, yeah, I really hope she isn't doing drugs anymore.
