ahw my gaaaaawd! I just fell flat on my face and cracked into pieces - she is amazing! You rarely find an artist that is unique and as special as Regina Spektor. Wonderful songs and she does those things with her voice that I just love and it makes me want more more more! Am I the only one on this forum that has discovered the beauty of this womans sonic creations? I don't like the lastest album very much (maybe I just haven't listened to it enough), but Songs and 11:11 hits me hard and fast in my sweetest spot.

yup, you aint the first She truly is amazing. My friend was talking about her on her journal, this artist that she just saw on the letterman show, and I got curious, so I downloaded a song, and the rest is pretty much 'duh, where the hell have you been" I saw her live earlier this year. Truly amazing. I cant wait to see her live again

Saw Regina tonight (yesterday technically)! She was bloody marvellous (again)! I decided to hang around a little while after the gig as I wanted to meet her. A few people were waiting outside the door to her backstage bit but it didn't look like she was gonna appear. In the meantime I did manage to pass my 'Your Honour/The Flowers' 7" vinyl cover to someone (I'm guesing was part of the entourage) to give to Regina to sign. I was pretty happy with that but thought I'd still give it another 10 mins to see and sure enough, Regina did come out So I got to talk to her for a couple of minutes. Regina was saying she had got into London at 4:30am so she was pretty exhausted! I was typically fairly blank minded but I managed to squeeze out enough words to compliment her performance and point out that no one had fainted* so the show had gone well! Some bloke got his photo taken with Regina afterwards so I'm a bit pissed off I didn't ask too but oh well. Very nice to have met her. My photos are worse than last time but I might post some tomorrow anyway. I also recorded a couple of vids but I haven't checked them yet. *About 4 girls fainted in seperate incidents at her last London show. It was quite bizarre!

Oh wow, why did they faint? It's a bit hard to imagine a moshpit at one of Regina's shows...
Anyway, Regina's absolutely marvelous. I only own Soviet Kitsch, but I have a few songs from her other albums. Some I really really love (samson, oedipus) some I really can't get into yet(bon idee, flying)

I adore Regina almost as much as I adore Tori! Soviet Kitsch and Songs are some of my favourite albums ever, and I completely adore 11:11 and Begin to Hope as well (though I agree that Begin to Hope would be better if it weren't so beefed up). One thing that I admire about her is that she is a living example of how beauty can be rather simple. Some of my favourite songs are Consequence of Sounds, Carbon Monoxide, Buildings, Dance Anthem of the 80s, Ghost of Corporate Future, and Ne Me Quitte Pas.

This has prolly been viewed by most of you, but I thought it was very sweet so here you go: www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PXhkaWokSgI have a love/hate relationship with her now a days. Some songs irritate me beyond words, while other days I cant get enough. But over all, she is one friggin talented woman and she rocks it live!
