Like Sarah I am not a "compilation" kind of person. I buy CDs and vinyl and put them simply in my CD player or record player. I don't like CDs with mixed artists, I like to listen to one band or artist or else I lose the feeling for it. I don't own an iPod or and MP3 Player (my brother does and it is very useful for interviews), because it is just not the way I prefer listening to music. There is nothing better than buying a CD, undress it and listen to it from the beginning to the end (for me). It is just my taste. Sooo, what I wanted to say with all this babbling: It is hard for me to take out certain songs. Here are artists/ bands I listened lots in 2005: (just popular music, I better don't start with classical music ) - Regina Spektor: All 3 CDs
She is definitely my number one artist of this year.
- Dresden Dolls
- Tom Waits of course, all his CDs, but this year especially Black Rider, Closing Time and Mule Variations.
- Elbow, this is a band I discovered this year, thanx to some comments by Andrew
all 3 CDs
- Devendra Banhart: all CDs
- Fiona Apple's Extraordinary Machine
- Nick Drake, I listened to him lots this year
- the wonderful Keren Ann
- Damien Rice, somehow I always skipped him, but this year we found together.
- lots of very old Elton John stuff. He was a real piano bitch and his lyrics were hilarious and so deep.
I am sure I forgot most of the stuff I listened too, but I am too lazy to look through my CDs and Vinyls.

haha, good! you spank yourself And I dont see it as making a 'compilation'. The songs I chose are the ones I found myself listening to a lot, and I mean A LOT this year, so hence, my 'soundtrack' of 2005
