For the fans of Pink Floyd, guitarist David Gilmour released his new album "On An Island" just a couple of weeks ago. I haven't listened to it, but if I have to believe the positive critics I've read so far, a lot of fans consider this as a new PF-album! The album is a great succes in Holland right now. For the 2nd week in a row it's in the top 3 of best selling albums. On his website www.davidgilmour.com/ you can hear the music in the background. And on emirecords.co.uk/players/dg/ you even can listen to clips of all the album tracks. I will listen to it later, but I like the single On An Island already

I have it. It's quite good. Very relaxed and slow which has seemed to piss off a few fans, but Gilmour was always the softer side of Floyd. It's not like his previous two solo albums - it's a bit closer to late Pink Floyd (but think more 'Momentary Lapse Of Reason' than 'Division Bell'). Quite a lot of fans have been really disappointed tho because they were expecting a it to sound just like 'Dark Side...' era Pink Floyd. So i kind of wish people wouldn't keep referring to it as being a new Floyd album as it's really setting people up to be disappointed. Over all i personally like the album. But i've always preferred the Gilmour side of Floyd to the Waters, the slower songs to the more biting stuff. As soon as Gilmour starts playing his electric and that sound comes out, i'm happy and drifting away...

I love this cd too...it's indeed very good relaxing music and at the same time, Gilmour's wonderful guitar is still very much in there....love love love it

I love both the Waters and the Gilmour-side of Pink Floyd. "A Momentary Lapse Of Reason" I love as much as like "Wish You Were Here". Both voices are great to listen to. Raw vs Gentle or Polite. Roger Waters' solo album "Amused To Death" is still a fantastic album. Maybe 'one of these days, I'm going to...' by this new album from David Gilmour

oh my goodness I love this man I have heard him sing Smile before ;D I will be getting this album as soon ;D Roger Waters is great and all, but David was, is and will always be my favorite from Floyd. From the clips that I have heard, I know that I will not be disappointed I just don't understand why people get all upset and bash things because it doesn't sound like their old stuff...some people griped about Tori's Beekeeper album because it didn't sound like this one or that one...why do people have such trouble with these musicians growing and experimenting with their music? It gets boring to me if they always sound the same just my opinion though ;D Thank you Franklin for putting this here, I had no idea it was out yet
