What a joke she is. I'm gonna give/throw her album away. I don't know why I bought it anyway. I officially hate her.

jesus christ. I feel sorry for her. She needs some serious help. Can't they give that award to an artist that actually takes their job seriously..?

Why do you hate her? This woman is obviously very ill and should get help as soon as possible. I feel sorry for her, just as I feel sorry for Britney. :-( Just that in Winehouse case it is also a waste of talent.

And I cannot feel sorry (in a way that I'm actually really and honestly sorry) for Amy Winehouse (or Britney Spears) just because she's fucked up and addicted to drugs. These ladies need to get it together first and I wish them all the best of course. But as artists, they lost my respect. Well, not that Britney actually ever got my respect anyway.

Hm, some of the best artists and composers of history were totally fucked up drug addicts (also in classical music history). Extreme talent sometimes comes along with self-destruction. (LOL, I am not trying to say here that Britney is a genious, kthx. )

To me, it seems like she really didn't want to be there. Why she attended, who knows. I've seen Amy Winehouse live. She puts on a hell of a fun show. Everyone really gets into the music. It's great to see the backup singers give it their all. So much energy. This was back in April. Damn shame what she's turned into in a short period of time. Reason for Editing: eta

Yeah that's true, and it's really sad in a way. I think I forgot to mention that I really don't like Amy's music after all. I think she's terribly overrated. And after seeing such a crappy performance and speech I kinda lost all my respect for her and threw out the 'hate' word, which I normally don't use that often. I guess I just wanted to see an artist on stage giving a good performance, instead of some drugsaddict hitting wrong notes all over the place. I do wish her the best, though. I just wanna get rid of her album as quickly as possible. ;D (LOL, I am not trying to say here that Britney is a genious, kthx. ) I got that, Julia!

Wait, you can not say that Amy Winehouse is a music genious. Sorry. What she does, has been done before and better. I never understood the hype around her. It's just sad to see these women disrespect themselfs like this. It makes me cringe. However, I think for the biggest part it's the fault of the media and the world we currently live in, sure musicians have been self-destructed for like as long as we know music, but the media just films and takes pictures of them ALL the time. What a pressure. I love the Rock Werchter interview, where they interview T and Amy: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tujX8i-D3Z0 ;D I think that musicians who take their music serious, don't even want an MTV award. I wouldn't. lol. Reason for Editing: oops.

^ Yeah if I had some musical skill & had taken up that career seriously I think an MTV award would be among the last things I'd want...I really don't see why any serious musician who cares about the art of their work would want something from a channel that barely plays ANY music or music videos whatsoever anymore & is entirely obsessed with image & money And onto Amy Winehouse, I can appreciate her talent (I think her voice is pretty unique for what's around right now in the mainstream) I like her latest album, though I'm not quite as taken with it as everyone else seems to be, it's ok, not amazing but not terrible by any means either. I don't quite get all the hype that surrounds her at the moment...but I do think she's throwing away & wasting any talent that she does have & that is a shame. I think she needs to (like I think Britney needs to as well) get away from the media & the paparazzi, get away from the hangers-on that are probably bad influences that encourage all the partying etc & just sort themselves out quietly somewhere...besides which if they disappear somewhere then I won't have to keep hearing about their latest dramas *yawn* Also...I actually kind of like her acceptance "speech" I hate when people win some award (that they probably don't really care that much about) and they cry hysterically & go on for hours seemingly by thanking everyone from God, their lawyer & pet dog, to the woman they once passed on the street that looked at them funny one time...I like the short & sweet approach to speeches...though admittedly her speech was certainly short but maybe not so sweet

I agree, Saar. And did Tori just say "... and get letters from 22 year old boys..." in that interview? I guess she got my big THANK YOU FOR MAKING FUCKING BRILLIANT AND REAL MUSIC, TORI! letter then.

What else did you write in that letter? I cannot write that in a public forum, I'm sorry. I'll whisper it in your ear the next time we meet. You're gonna explode when you hear it, though...
