February 11th 2008 is the official release date of Michael Jackson's "new" album, Thriller 25. It was clear MJ was working with artists like will.i.am, Akon and Fergie last year. He did some backing vocals on some lousy hiphop-tracks :S but it was clear a new album was finally coming. Everything but a new Thiller was expected, but is the true fact unfortunately. It's the original Thriller, enhanced with totally new recorded songs from Thriller: * The Girl Is Mine 2008 With Will.I.Am * P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing) 2008 Will.I.Am * Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 2008 With Akon And Will.I.Am * Beat It 2008 With Fergie * Billie Jean 2008 With Kanye West * For All Time (Unreleased Track From Original Thriller Sessions) I just downloaded the first 5 'new' songs, but I don't know if I should like it or not. Billie Jean 2008 and Beat It are the most recognisable songs compared to the original ones. The other 3 really sounds different. As an old-time fan I think this is totally... ehm... well... waste of money and a waste of time??? I rather waited another year for a true new album of Michael (without all those collaborations with other artists).

Instead of ruining his old hits, why doesn't he just release some new music? I mean, who on Earth is waiting for a duet between Michael Jackson and Fergie?
She used to be a man, I'm sure.

The rumours are that MJ is planning to release a REAL new album at the end of this year and this new version of Thriller is just a warm up to tell us he is still out there (and to make some bucks too). The dvd that comes with the cd has no new material or whatsoever! Not even the making of/promo video that is on YouTube. There should be at least a documentary about the Thriller album and why it sold 106 million copies worldwide. And explaining why the 5 re-recorded songs with some of todays artists. But none of that... But still it's an amazing album, and a new chance for todays youth to own the best album ever. I did (again).
