Does anyone else here like or know who Sara Bareilles is? I heard her music on a commercial (and really liked her) so I googled her and found something pretty interesting: From www.rhapsody.comSara Bareilles (pronounced bar-rell-is) is a singer and songwriter from Eureka, Calif., who grew up singing in the high school choir and playing piano. After gigging around Los Angeles' open mic circuit as a student at UCLA, she caught the eye of Epic and signed her first major record contract in April 2005. Bareilles spent the next year working out a set of piano-based rockers that might sound at home filed next to Regina Spektor. These would make their way to Bareilles' 2007 debut Little Voice, produced by Eric Rosse (best known for his long association with Tori Amos). The album enjoyed wide distribution, in part because it was as a song-of-the-day selection for Starbucks, a Seattle-based coffee franchise.

I finally got around to getting her album. I don't know what I think. I am a little disappointed. Has anyone else heard it? It's too poppy for me and it seems like she's holding back and/or was forced to change her music or something. It's so happy. But maybe that's just who she is. Any thoughts?

Can't stand that song "Write you a love song" or whatever. Seems like another cheap riff off of i don't know what. However, Give her credit for being a songwriter and talent, but I just think she jumped on the band wagon of other singer/songwriter/pianist. Nothing original. sorry

I saw a bit of the video for Love Song some days ago and it reminds me of Tori's Earthquake-era. Piano and Tori smiling into the camera. But I still don't know if I like the song or not. The rest I don't know yet.

[where is the post I just written???] Second attempt. I'm listening to her album "Little Voice" right now and I really like it! I don't think it's too poppy like Jessie. It sounds very positive and it's more radio friendly than Tori. And her piano (I thought I saw "Bösendorfer" on the piano when I saw a piece of her video) is not thát present like in the early albums of Tori. But overall I hear Tori whispering in the back in a lot of albums. And I don't think it's forced at all. 5 or 6 songs from her demo-like debut album "Careful Confessions" are re-recoded for this album. Maybe that's the reason Jessie has that feeling. I'm starting to fall in love with this woman (yes, she is pretty too). She's much better than boring Leona Lewis. She is very annoying. Like Sophie B. Hawkins without any sence of rhythm, melody and expression (Leona Lewis' voice really sounds like Sophie B. Hawkins). She really is holding back. Official website: www.sarabareilles.com/Reason for Editing: added her website

I like her music, although it's a bit pop to my taste

I thought her covers were quite amusing... but UGH I really do not like anything of her own stuff. Too poppy for my liking. Makes me itchy.

Not even "Morningside", "Between The Lines" and "City"? They really got a Tori-feel and a Tori-attitude! There is nothing much yet to be found on the net, except for her 2 albums. Haven't checked YouTube yet, so I don't know any of her covers.

Did you know that Eric Rosse produced her? Read the liner notes.... Eric I think is also working on Anna Nalick's new album...

The only song I like a lot (and I wish I could have realised this before purchaing the whole album, the previews were false promises) is "Love Song". That's it.

The only song I like a lot (and I wish I could have realised this before purchaing the whole album, the previews were false promises) is "Love Song". That's it. I feel the same. I really wished I would start to like the album eventually but I can't stand it. Ah, I'll give it another try in a couple weeks then pass it on to a friend.... She is much better live then on the album.
