anyone in here watch soap operas? I've fallen in love with General Hospital.:love::love:I find most soaps just about love and this and that. GH on the other hand is really action packed. It involves the mobs kidnapping murder deciet....ooooooo i can't stop watching it. I remember my mom's been watching since the 60's up til now, and I've just been watching it 3years ago. Haven't missed an episode thanks to soapnet.

I started watching soaps during my summer vacation when I was 16 and had no cable, and there was nothing on tv at the time, so I gave em whirl ;D Remember Sunset Beach? lol! I only watch 'All My Children' and 'Days of our Lives' now...though sometimes, its way beyond ridiculous, I cannot stand to watch Days. And I also hate how they have kids, and two years later, they are all teenagers, and a year later, they are all grown up. Erica is having her 10th wedding this week is it? haha, cannot wait to see how this one pans out ;D

I do not watch soaps really... I have seen 'Days of Our Lives' a couple of times tho... OMG, everything is so fake and so plastic-y! It's just something I watch, when I'm very tired and I just need to put my brains on zero. But I bet you are way in front of us, Juanita... ;D I am crazy about these tho: - Six Feet Under - Bottom - The Young Ones - AbFab but I don't think you call these programmes 'soaps'... ;D

I prefer "drama's", tho technically they're still soaps - it's just they're better made. ;D I'm talking Six Feet Under, Nip/Tuck (which just finished it's latest season here this week), Huff, Sopranos, Oz, ect. They still have that 'gossip' factor that makes soaps so addictive, but they have also seem to have more heart too and so you end up feeling more involved. I did grow up watching Neighbours and Home & Away tho...

Maybe it's not a soap opera but do any of you know/watch The West Wing? Paul was a huuuuuuge fan, watching it used to make him happy. I've never managed to discover it.

Oh hell yeh!!! The West Wing - i should definitely have listed that too. Me and my gran get hooked on that every year... I watch it first and tape it and pass it onto her, then we almost always end up talking about it for ages. ;D I remember thinking there was no way it was going to be any good when it first started, but it actually ended up being by far one of the best things on tv. If only the real US government were anything like the one on the show... I might actually have hope for those with the most power in the world once again! But nope, we have Bush.

i think that was the first real mega tv event. lol everyone around the world was talking about it! Nope, the first real soap was 'DALLAS'. My parents and I were talking about it a few weeks ago, they are showing this soap again on tv... (repeat)... And my parents remember that when Dallas came on, there wasn't a car in the street... everyone was watching it! ;D

of course, as a whole tv-show, dallas was important. but to talk about just one single episode, really when these two freaks finally married everyone was holding his/her breath at home ;D
about the "no car in the streets". was also the case with the flinstones i think. at least my parents told me so. hehe. damn, when you watch these shows today, such crap!

I alwas thought Guiding Light and Edge of night was the first. I never watched Gilmore Girls. everytime I see a commercial for Gilmore Girls I think of Julia. I cant watch days either so many of the soaps got bad,...but GH is still kicken. By the way Luke and Laura Got married to each other in the early 80's (before my time) he raped her and a year later they were married. I do like the idea of Luke and Skye together, great pair. To rasp and teepic, I love Six Feet Under and I miss Oz...I also miss new episodes of Sex and the City.

Talking of crap soaps and stupid rape storylines (don't ask), how could i forget that i watch the most insane/bizarre soap in the whole world - american wrestling! ;D Last night they had a 500 pound black guy with metal teeth and white-eye contacts anally humping one of their announcers in the middle of the ring! Strangely enough this is the second wrestler anally-thrusts against announcer moment within a year - last time it was two white guys, one of which was reading bad poetry whilst "in the act" (the wrestlers original gimmick was to go round asking if anyone had seen his "little johnny" - well i guess he found it ).
