I'll wanna see it! I have very good memories of the book, and Zhang Ziyi stars in it.

i loved the book... one of the best i've ever read! it's pretty cool Zhang Ziyi got the part. it sucks chinese are so bitchy about her! apparently they're rather unhappy she plays a japanese. they say she's selling herself and give a bad image of china... guess it's true, no man is a prophet in his own country there are lots of pics and info here: helloziyi.us

the book was lovely and I hope the movie does it justice as well . . . a friend and I were going to go see it yesterday but we went and saw the lion the witch and the wardrobe instead because we thought it was going to be one of those moives you should REALLY see in the theater . . . we were sadly mistaken and kicked ourselves on the way out
so has anyone seen it yet?

I really love it, but I just get too emotional... sat there crying in my bed. I always read before I go to sleep and instead of relaxing me, it really keeps me from sleeping. lol.

i bought the book as a christmas present for myself... so i guess when i get around to reading it next week i will have an emotional time of it. the majority of what i read is very emotional, i judge a book partly on whether it made me cry. if an author can make u cry they must be pretty good. a friend of mine was going to see Narnia yesterday and I was telling him about the old film having a perfect "moral" rating on a christian website that reviews movies. well i couldnt find the exact website but i did find another one www.christiananswers.net/spotlight/home.htmland this had ratings as to the moral ratings as well. well Memoirs was rated as offensive. i went through a few of the films and some are rated as extremely offensive. tho the site also offers a star rating on the movie making quality and it got 3.5... we found that sin city had a rating of extremely offensive, and well they are not harry potter fans at all. christiananswers.net/spotlight/movies/2001/harrypotterwitchcraftrepackaged.htmlthis is a film made by christians called "harry potter: witchcraft repackaged" its moral rating is excellent! my friend and I were disgusted that the harry films are offensively rated...harry potter is all about being loyal to ur friends and doing the right thing...

I read the book several years ago and loved it, but I read some reviews of this movie and they say the actors are struggling to find the right emotions for their scenes; that the overall tone and message of the movie are vague and sort of "all over the place." It did not get many stars. *shrug* I kind of still want to see it anyway! I like Zhang Ziyi too.
