Does anyone else find it odd how much coverage Princess Diana is getting these days?

I don't know, it's probably some kind of anniversary, I guess but I never understood all the hype about her anyway...

Yeh, she's everywhere these days, due to the anniversary like Deb pointed out. I never understood the 'hype' either. She did quite a bit of humanitarian work, but I get annoyed that they paint her as some kind of angel or something. She was human afterall. I find it sad really... for her. All she wanted was a 'normal' life and do something good with her life. I never thought she was as beautiful as the media made her, jeebs, it was like she was the most beautiful woman on this earth... next to Charles she was tho. I guess it's due the way she died... tragic... and the memories people have/had of her, they romanticized and made her some kind of 'super-human'.

Here in Australia, my politically incorrect feminist friend, GERMAINE GREER wrote a write up 'bout Diana and the hype surrounding her. It was pretty interesting, talking about how Diana was forced into marrying Charles, how she was quite a manipulative person, how she was to quote Germaine, 'kind of slow,' and all the stuff around her adultery and mental illnesses. Germaine! I don't really care bout Diana, but when I heard about her death 10 years ago I cried, bawled like a baby, not because I liked her, or would miss her being on the cover of all the women's magazines, or was thankful for all the humanitarian work she did, but because of how horrible it must have been for her boys losing their mum at such a young age. That's me, overly empathetic!!! I think we should all shut up and let the boys deal with this as they need to. If they need to throw a concert, let them, if they want news coverage, let them, if they want to go and bawl naked through the streets, let them. It's not our place to tell someone how to grieve.
