Dakota Blue Richards is actually a very good actress in that movie. The supporting cast was good, the story moved well, I give it a solid A-. I liked it a lot more than Narnia, it seems like it's being compared to that movie a lot anyway. Either way I'm a pretty discerning movie goer, but I watch a lot of movies, good and bad ones. And I definitely put this in my good movie category.

I'm thinking of seeing it cos it looks like the sort of film I'd enjoy (I LOVE stories like The Chronicles of Narnia - already obsessing over when the trailer for the new Narnia film comes out!! ) But I haven't heard the best reviews etc for this film so I might just wait til I can rent it or something...

still haven't seen it (will go this w-e) but i've heard nothing but good comments around me. i'm a bit scared it might be a bit too different from the book though... i prefer by far His Dark Materials, don't like Narnia at all

I liked it, but for some reason I expected more. It was still good compared to some of the crap out there. I haven't read the book/s. I usually don't read fantasy.
Kate Bush fans might wanna check it out, she has a song when the credits start rolling.

I thought the movie was so so so so bad... read the book instead As usual (in Hollywood) they took a book intended for adults (and which is edgy and not for everybody) and turned it into a family movie... ka-ching Come on... they even changed the ending of the book... The only good thing was the animation part with all the animals but the story really doesn't flow, you feel like going from page 3 to page 75 to page 225... They've ruined in the same way they did with Stardust. Wouldn't recommend it sorry But I would recommend the book
