New Placebo album
Think 'Follow The Cops Back Home' is my fave track (sucker for the ballads, me), but 'Because I Want You' does get into your head after a while. 'Broken Promise' was a huge disappointment though.

The thing is whilst some of the Arctic Monkeys stuff really annoys me to the point of making me want to actively not like them (some parts of some songs, this thing where the singers voice sounds cockney to me when he's from sheffield, and the fact that everyone seemed to be saying they were 'the next big thing' before they'd even released a single song), at the same time i see things that drag me in the other direction and make me start to like them (their attitude, certain guitar lines, other parts of the same songs that have bits in that i hate... ;D) There's definetly alot of parralels with the rise of the Artic Monkeys and Oasis, with the attitude and noisy guitars. I think the Artic Monkeys album is good, but it's not in Definetly Maybe's league. I do think the Artic Monkeys are quite original and have the lyrics (unlike Oasis ), but they haven't quite got the tunes yet... And being partly from Sheffield, I think the accent is great

'Mother' is definetly one of my favourite guitar solos. I'm listening to Keren Ann (Nolita)

Oh, some of the British music press is going totally nuts over them. Our press do stuff like that . They exploded onto the scene in summer when their first single went straight into number one in the charts without any advertising (twas caused by a massive internet-based campaign by fans.) Anyway, from what I've heard it's quite good. It's punk guitar stuff with a distinctly home-made, British accent to it. The lyrics are well worth listening to, which makes for a nice change.

'Lit up', The National Song came on a magazine I bought today (free cd). Very good. Nothing like discovering new music

I'm the same, actually. I don't like football (soccer), but American Football is OK. And rugby I just don't understand!
Currently listening to 'Nolita' by Keren Ann (which is good, btw)
