OH, HANNA - Patti Smith's Land is so fine. I did lots of iPod updating over the weekend and now have Land on my headphones. She's such an interesting person... and what a voice! It's old school rock & roll; more grit, less polish.

i ought to download more of this band Check out 'Scorpio Rising' (the song - not the album). Death In Vegas + Liam Gallagher = Fuckin' Cool! Also 'So You Say You Lost Your Baby' which they did with Paul Weller is great. Psst... And i might know where you can get mp3's of those songs if you ask nicely... Death in Vegas certainly are one cool mutha of a band. I do love Scorpio Rising (both song & album!) - Hanna, you'd love it. A really unusal mix of songs

I can't get no (Satisfaction) - The Rolling Stones God this song rocks, I can visualise Micks hips thrusting away. I caught a RS special on pay tv a few weeks back and they played so many of their original clips. Mr Jagger would have done it for me in the 60s.... but in the 90s it's just kinda weird.

Oh he does! ;D I think if you read between the lines Teppic is torn for not liking certain things about the Arctic Monkeys when clearly Oasis have very similar things in common!
What I've heard of the Arctic Monkeys record makes me smile and jump around a bit. Which is a good thing. I might buy the album soon.

And I only saw Sonic Youth for the first time 2 years ago. Considering Thurston is now 46 or something I feel I missed a whole period of their live stuff (well I actually did ;D), but it's never too late to enjoy music. That's what timeless stuff is all about . *I have a nasty, dull headache that has lingered for 7 hours. I am moving house this weekend. I had sushi train for lunch....

Jeff Buckley - yard of blonde girls Through the yard, through the yard of blonde girls Through the river and the sea Gold sharks glittering A tree of white breaks the earth The streets where Lola played Very sexy, very sexy. Okay, okay Fear we may come Fear we may come Fear we may come Fear we may come So run, run, run, run, run, run, run
It's in your heart, it's in your art, your beauty Even in this world of lies, there's purity, You've got innocense in your eyes Even in this world of lies, you're still hopeful Very sexy. Okay, okay Fear we may come Fear we may come Fear we may come Fear we may come So run, run, run, run, run, run, run
Through the yard, through the yard of blonde girls Through the river and the sea Gold sharks glittering A tree of white breaks the earth The streets where Lola played Very sexy, very sexy. Okay, okay Fear we may come Fear we may come Fear we may come Fear we may come So run, run, run, run, run, run, run
I fucking LOVE this song. Jeff's "Sketches for my sweetheart the drunk" has a special place in my heart. The day I bought it (precisely 6 years and 6 months ago ) is how my boyfriend and I first discovered our shared love of music. I think he only asked me out on a date because I had good taste in tunes... hehehe

And you should get more. Liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiike, DayDream Nation and Washing Machine. And A Thousand Leaves and Murray Street and Sonic Nurse. Yes, I totally agree. Even up until their last release, Sonic Nurse - I have that sticker on my fridge ;D - they have continually proved themselves as great musicians and song writers. Thurston Moore is like 45 now & I still see him as a gangly teenager ;D I finally got to see Sonic Youth for my birthday 2 years ago (a surprise from Mikey ) and my head was giddy with their music for days afterwards. Truly special stuff. And Kim Gordon... so HOT! ;D
