I feel we should have a real place to talk Kate on this forum. Kate is so different from any other female artists that I have listed to. Like our Tori, it was love at first listen. Kate is not for everyone, but once she is in your heart, she is there for ever. I started late with Kate, The Red Shoes and Aerial. They were loaned to me for a week by a friend who was also a big Tori fan and she lived in my apt. building. I was so sad when I had to return them, and she burned them for me. That was so nice of her. A used CD shop I use told me they could order any of Kate's CDs from the UK, they are hard to find here. I now have all of her CDs plus copies of the CDs and DVDs from the " This Woman's Work " box set, sent to me by a friend on a Kate forum from London, England. Any Kate fans here, please post your Kate stories and words on her albums and songs.

Thanks and welcome to my Kate topic. It's hard to put my love for Kate in words taken from my heart, but if you need info on Kate's albums and a vast amount of Kate pics go here. gaffa.org/intro/toc.html

I got into Kate when I was 9 years old. My mum is a big fan and so as a child I listened to Kate lots. It took me till I was about 17 to get her albums myself. I prefer her older work, 'The Kick Inside', 'The Dreaming' and 'Never For Ever'... I was quite dissapointed in 'Aerial'! Kate is indeed something special and one of a kind, her video's have always been sublime. (minus "King of the Mountain").

I love Kate!
I have all her albums now. I remember listening to "Aerial" when it came out and being bored to tears, so I just turned it off and forgot about her. But since everyone kept on mentioning her in Tori forums, I decided to give her another try. Saar gave me some recommendations on which albums to get and I think my first one was "The Whole Story" (hits collection) because I couldn’t really find any others at the time. I fell in love and then started getting her other albums.
One day I found myself on YouTube watching the video for "King of the Mountain," and I was like "Wow! I love this song. How didn't I notice it the first time I listened to 'Aerial'?" So the next day I went to Borders and bought “Aerial.” This time I loved every single song (except for "Pi," I still find it annoying). I think "Nocturn" and "Aerial" are two of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard from anyone.
I love something from most of her albums, but my favorites are "The Dreaming," "Hounds of Love," "The Sensual World," and "Aerial."

I was a Kate fan before I knew much about Tori at all. It was actually Kate/Tori fans that led me here! There's nobody quite like miss KT. She's not for everyone. But if she clicks with you, she really, really clicks. I'm listening to Song of Solomon just now... Audal orgasm. Pure and simple.

^ Great post on Kate, I feel the same way. She clicked with me only back in '05, she's here in my head, and has a special place in my heart. It's also sad she was never big here in the States.
