This movie geek just wanted to share his faves with ya....
1. Kill Bill Vol. 2 Six long months since vol. 1 but it was worth the wait. Tarantino has taken some stick for vol. 2 but I thought it was almost perfection.
2. Runaway Jury Cracking courtroom drama.
3. School Of Rock Yeah I know it has been out in the the US for months but we only got it in January! Hilarious stuff.
4. 21 Grams Depressing stuff but riveting story and performances.
5. Dawn of the Dead A re-make that works!
6. Starsky & Hutch All good, clean fun.....and very funny. Although Snoop Dogg should be shot for services to acting.....talk about wooden!
7. Shaun of the Dead A rarity...a British comedy for the big screen that is actually FUNNY!
8. The Girl Next Door Looks like a teen movie but is so much more than that. Touching and very funny.
9. The Butterfly Effect A little disturbing (and a VERY wooden Ashton Kutcher) but still an effective thriller.
Two to avoid: Paycheck and Gothika.

Cool thread! Well I haven't seen much movies this year... I don't think I have been to a cinema this year... hmmm. But these are the latest movies, I have seen: - Kill Bill (Vol.1) - Underworld - Return Of The King (LOTR) - Manority Raport (or however you spell this...) But I have seen loads of movies I hadn't seen before on dvd, with Teppic. These are the ones I've seen on dvd the past few month's! - Donnie Darko - Wrong Turn - Cabin Fever - 28 days later - Roadkill And I loved them all.

Kill Bill vol. 1 was definitely THE film of last year, IMHO. Cabin Fever and 28 Days Later are wonderful horror films. I'm pleased horror films have made a largely successful comeback in the last year or two. Sarah...have you seen 'Dog Soldiers'?? If not, rent it or buy it...it's superb.

Yep, Kill Bill is absolutely FANTASTIC! I can't wait to see Kill Bill vol. 2!! Yes, I love horror films, although they make me sleep bad! I haven't seen 'Dog Soldiers'... I will ask if Teppic has heard of it before. He prolly has tho. What's it about? Thank you for the suggestion!

From IMDB: Dog Soldiers - "A British Squad is sent on a training mission in the Highlands of Scotland against Special Operations squad. Ignoring the childish "campfire" stories heard about the area, they continue with their mission and come across the bloody remains of the Special Ops Squad, and a fierce howling is pitching the night sky... With two mortally wounded men, they make an escape, running into a zoologist by the name of Megan - who knows exactly what hunts them. What began as what they thought was a training mission turns into a battle for their lives against the most unlikely enemies they would have expected - werewolves."

well, the film that impressed my most was "elsewhere" it is very long, but everyone who has the possibility should see it. it changed my view of the world somehow it is an austria film, made by Nikolaus Geyrhalter, from 2001. this guy travelled the whole world and the film lasts 4 hours. he takes you to "the end of the world" and back. very sensitiv and kinda funny made. i don't know if an english version exists i hope so! www.elsewhere.at/
