Great pictures! I use flickr lots, cause you can use the pics for free and that's very important for internet journalism. I don't have an account on my own yet. When I have more time and muse I will get one.

You take amazing photos Steve. I kinda rely on you to show me what I'm missing out on in the UK in terms of music! The Hay Festival photos were something that I hoped & knew you would take.. and then share them. You are my eyes on the music prize Stevie!!!

Hehe yeah he is on my contacts list actually. His photos are great! There really are some amazing concert photographers on Flickr - I have a load of them as contacts and am always checking out their new photos - something to aspire to! It's especially interesting to see if they have photos from a show I was also at (since I can remember the lighting conditions and how challenging it was to shoot). Sometimes it's difficult to tell just how good someone is because obviously people have different cameras and other equipment which can give a massive distinction in the kind of quality they are able to capture. Someone with a 4-5 megapixel compact is not generally gonna be able to get the same detail as someone with £2000 worth of SLR and lenses so I always try to take that into account and not get too downheartened. Also someone walking around the press pit and shooting from various angles at their own leisure has it a bit easier than someone trying to focus whilst get smacked about in a mosh pit. ;D Hopefully I am getting myself a Canon 30D ( photo.net/equipment/canon/30D/) before the end of the year and then I'll be able to go and try to compete with the big boys (and girls) ;D My little Sony is dear to my heart but it just doesn't cut the mustard in the trickier conditions and I find that very frustrating! I'm also hoping having professional looking gear might help me blag the odd press/photo pass now and then.. Well you've gottta try, eh?

So actually now is a good time to mention this... Those of you who already use Flickr might have noticed that there are groups on there that you can join. I thought it might be cool to have an Afterglow group for all of us to share our photos in a really organised way? At the moment people post up pics here but usually have put them on some temporary bandwidth or something. If we all had a Flickr account (takes a couple of mins to register and it's free) then we have a big archive of all our pics and make photo albums etc... I've made the group here as a trial www.flickr.com/groups/theafterglow/It will be invite only and private so nobody else can even view our photos or comments there. Let me know what you all think and if you want to do it I could administrate the group. I quite enjoy doing the organisational stuff on Flickr

I've added you, Leah. Your account URL seems to be www.flickr.com/photos/26179442@N00 at the moment (hence that leewahbrown link you gave not working when you click on it from here). I think you need to go into your Flickr account settings and make sure you have changed and confirmed your account name to that. If you add me back as a contact, I can send you a Flickr Afterglow group invite
