are you kidding?? have you read the book? this movie is terrible. they simplified the story to the extreme, was just ugly and boring. Haven't read the books, but my fiancée did (borrowed the books from her father), and she love the movie as well. But Mina, I think you really loved the LOTR-trilogy didn't you? The theatrical versions as well as the extended editions? The story in the books is way longer than the movies, so it's not fair to compare them. It's 2 different kind of mediums. What works in a book, doen't always work for a movie. And vice versa. I really think the movie Men Who Hate Women is a great great 3-hour movie. A kind of a German Krimi. And last weekend we watched the dvd Inglourious Basterds. Didn't know what to expect of the latest QT-movie. Didn't expect to be half German-spoken that's for sure! It's not gross or rude, it's not arty, it's... I don't know. Is it even Tarentino? I really liked the movie (my fiancee even recognized Mike Myers!!), but did it really had to be this long? It's def way better than Kill Bill 2, but I miss some catchy, memorable one-liners. i really liked the LOTR trilogy indeed, sadly i still haven't read the books (bought them years ago though). i think MWHW is a very catchy novel but as a movie... doesn't work that well - some parts sound too cliché, was way too predictable. the suspense wasn't just there, fell a bit flat imo. maybe i was expecting too much? anyway it's not a movie i'll see it again. strongly doubt i'll see The Girl Who Played With Fire (got the audiobook). LOVED IB although i didn't have high expectations - since Kill Bill i'm not into Tarantino that much (part 1 really disapointed me, liked part 2). i can't wait to see it again

Mine came the other day and it is brilliant... the documentary shows just how honest and real and earthy she is - I wish Tori would give us a doco like this!!! took some time to click, but i'm a fan now. and i agree, the documentary is fantastic! been a while i saw one so interesting/well done

think i've mentioned Emilie Simon here before, not sure. for those who don't know her yet, she's a french electronica singer/songwriter, who's third album "The Big Machine" will be released on monday. it was recorded in New York (where she lives for 2 years now), w/th musicians from Arcade Fire and Beirut. the video for "Dreamland" is already available on youtube, as various clips from the album: DREAMLAND : www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tq1KmWW_n4CLIPS 1: www.youtube.com/watch?v=MaJyMCGiEfECLIPS 2: www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWkBwExgFVQCLIPS 3: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsEHuuVN_M8after a couple of listenings, i can honestly say i love it, although the whole Kate Bush rip-off -sorry- "inspiration" annoys me a bit. you can definitely hear it in her vocals (she's trying real hard to hit the high notes, sounds ok on the record but live it's not so good) and on some melodies ("Hounds of Love", anyone?). after being endlessly compared to Bjork, it'll be to Kate now. not sure the "inspiration" is conscious or not (she's a fan though). can't help but find most of the songs addictive, so i kinda forgive her. emiliesimon.artistes.universalmusic.fr/
