I saw The White Stripes (Jack & Meg YAY) play here in January - for a two-piece band they can really make some noise! I love the Stripes, little band from Detroit rocking the world. Awesome. Rasp - play it really loud and notice that your dancing style goes through a dramatic change!! Leewah x

(I wrote this on pj board - so it's a plagerism as such ) Announcement! A Nirvana greatest hits LP, a Box Set and a Rarities Album (which will of course contain "You Know You're Right") will be released in the coming months. Read this: www.nme.com/news/103091.htm Triple J (Aus Radio) has had this song on high rotation - apparently waiting for a lawyer to tell them to stop! hahaha Go JJJ! To answer your questin Sid, I really like the song. I heard a quote from *can't for the life of me remember the person* that said "it really makes you realise that you will never hear his voice again"... For me it's kinda haunting.. I wonder what he was feelling when he wrote & recorded it (3 months prior to the suicide).. who "know's they're right?"... I hate the way a music company will want to rape an artist, over-expose them and wring them out to dry, but hopefully in this case, it's something that will put the final nail in the coffin, so to speak. I feel every artist should have the right to put together 'best of' albums and box sets etc, it just seems more capitalistic when the production line begins in a post-humourous fashion. Good on Dave Grohl & Krist Novoselic for sticking to their guns though. They deserve to maintain control of their art.. Courtney (who I also admire for her individuality, tenacity and perserverance) has come to a compromise and has said "we all love each other again"... Well ain't that sweet!

Hello beauties, The feeling of 'discovering' an artist or band is phenomenal, but what about REdiscovering... Last night I was listening to Disc 2 of Jeff Buckley's Sketches... and rediscovered the beauty in this song YARD OF BLONDE GIRLS Through the yard, through the yard of blonde girls. Through the river and the sea. Gold sharks glittering. A tree of white breaks the earth. The streets where Lola played.. Very sexy, very sexy. Okay, okay. Fear, we may come. (X 4) So run, run, run, run, run, run, run. It's in your heart, it's in your art, your beauty. Even in this world of lies, there's purity, You've got innocense in your eyes. Even in this world of lies, you're still hopeful. Very sexy. Okay, okay. Fear, we may come. (X 4) So run, run, run, run, run, run, run. Through the yard, through the yard of blonde girls. Through the river and the sea. Gold sharks glittering. A tree of white breaks the earth. The streets where Lola played.. Very sexy, very sexy. Okay, okay. Fear, we may come. (X 4) So run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run. WHOA - don't you just love it when you've got the stereo pumping and a song literally reaches out and grabs you!! I just go "Oh Fuck Yeah, this is gorgeous.." Has anyone else had a rediscovery of such lately?

But of course you are still at school! (ah, like der Leah!)!! I tell ya what I've just started doing is glass painting. I've bought all of these little vases, tealight candle lamps, photo frames etc and have invested $40 in some glass paints. I'm going to sell them at the markets and make a good profit (i hope)! I got all the glass things from the discount shops so they are pretty cheap.. Then get some patterns, ideas, sparkles & imaginiation - GO GIRL! (When I was about 14 and going through a bit of a 'phase' as my parents put it - I bought some blank raffle tickets and went door to door selling them to my neighbours in our street. I made about $60 but my mum found it and made me go back to each person (who had filled out their names and stuff on the tickets) and tell them i was a fraud... ah, second thoughts this may not be a good idea LOL!!) ;D ;D

The clincher for me breaking into my first full-time job (at Australia's largest media company) was to do some voluntary work in a similar field. When I saw a job ad for that job I went for it and got it, not because of my overwhelming experience but because I was keen and had worked for nothing to gain some insight and skills. Little did they know that my 'voluntary' work was organised through a friend and that I was being paid cash-in-had @ $50 a day, which was great. That was still being underpaid though, so some of my time I considered 'voluntary' and I was working whenever I had time off from college. Just an idea...

Hello daniipants! Welcome dude I guess voxi would be at her sister's wedding today. Vox, I hope you are having a good time sweets! I'm sure you'll get to see the Living End soon anyways. I've heard that now Chris is all better from that nasty car accident they have or are recording new material, which means new album, new tour! They usually do all-ages gigs too!!

Yeah, like the cricket caps "Baggy Green" ahhaha, but these come in checkered prints and stuff... Anyway, with my Irish ancestory, I really like your green one above! Last St Patricks day I went to an Irish breakfast at a pub in Sydney and was supposed to be back at work by 10.30am... WELL - I ended up coming back at 2.30pm, wearing a plastic glitter green hat and carrying another match shamrock thing, all the while skipping and singing Irish songs.. My boss wasn't happy and sent me home, probably because I stank like Irish coffee & beer, but it was the best. Instead of going home i went back to the pub LOL!

Have you seen the Louiville Sluggers live before or heard their music? I've seen em a few times around Sydney.. they are quite good. I reckon they would be right up your (skanking) alley! ;D
*takes porkpie hat and gives it to Vox and then gives her suspenders a good flick*

the word on the street is that on ocotber 5th at the evelyn hotel The Living End is playing a secret gig. Also for support, a band called the Longnecks (that look surprisingly like the living end) are playing.
Thought you might be interested as these bands both feature a double bass...

What a day! Awesome to see some live music in such an abundance again! Whao, where to even start? I managed to see quite a few bands on the day, running around like a crazed girl! ;D Absolute highlights: John Butler jumping into the crowd after playing Take (first time I have seen that song live *shivers*) and thanking everyone for seeing them over Oasis and any other band that clashed with the program... I saw the first 4 songs of Oasis and an English dude two metres away from me jumped up on his mate's shoulders and pulled down his only remaining pieces of clothing (yup, undies & shorts) to reveal a very small member.... hmmmm Mercury Rev took my breath away.. wow.. brilliant The International Noise Conspiracy rocked! Shit they can play! I met two members catching John Butler in the crowd too! Embarrassing myself (again) by being totally over the top and intoxicated talking to Triple J presenter Adam Spencer.. he remembered me from the Splendour festival (I have a photo of me pretending to lick his chest.. long story) so he knew what was coming lol! Also, Something for Kate at their beautiful best, Machine Gun Fellatio... WOW these guys and gals just get crazier with each gig. The bondage guy was back, so was the straight jacket, but nothing beats Chit Chat Von Loopin Stab's efforts at last year's Homebake when he sang with only a toy Winnie the Pooh stuck to his captain winky... ;D ;D ;D Loved it all except the montrous heat and the dust! *cough cough* Bring on Summer Music! Love to the lovers, Leewah Brown xx (see Bugg, this is what you have to look forward to, as long as it doesn't effect your brain like it does mine )
