Wow, I love his stuff! Thought provoking and some of it's pretty hilarious too - mostly because I think it's good modern social commentary. Will be checking more of his work out. Thanks Wah x ;D

I used to play loads of games. Had a NES, SNES, Megadrive, Nintendo 64 and most recently a Gamecube which I bought mainly to play (you guessed it) Resident Evil 4! It's a great game but I haven't played it for ages and not completed it yet so I could pick it up again at some point. It's not that I don't like computer/video games anymore just I like other things more now: music, live music gigs, photography etc I have less time and patience to play games. Also now I work full time so there just aren't that many hours in the day left over. There's definitely other factors too. I don't have a tv in my room so it's not convenient to just switch on the Gamecube or whatever without planning out specifically for gaming. I know I could play games on my PC (occassionally I have done) but I usually get more distracted by the internet whilst I'm there and I am also utterly useless at using mouse/keyboard in fast paced games (e.g. FPS stuff like Half-Life) so I don't even bother cos I know I'm gonna get a caning! I'm good with nintendo joypads but Christ try playing Street Fighter 2 with a keyboard (not that anyone else still plays SF2)!

I've added you, Leah. Your account URL seems to be www.flickr.com/photos/26179442@N00 at the moment (hence that leewahbrown link you gave not working when you click on it from here). I think you need to go into your Flickr account settings and make sure you have changed and confirmed your account name to that. If you add me back as a contact, I can send you a Flickr Afterglow group invite

So actually now is a good time to mention this... Those of you who already use Flickr might have noticed that there are groups on there that you can join. I thought it might be cool to have an Afterglow group for all of us to share our photos in a really organised way? At the moment people post up pics here but usually have put them on some temporary bandwidth or something. If we all had a Flickr account (takes a couple of mins to register and it's free) then we have a big archive of all our pics and make photo albums etc... I've made the group here as a trial www.flickr.com/groups/theafterglow/It will be invite only and private so nobody else can even view our photos or comments there. Let me know what you all think and if you want to do it I could administrate the group. I quite enjoy doing the organisational stuff on Flickr

Hehe yeah he is on my contacts list actually. His photos are great! There really are some amazing concert photographers on Flickr - I have a load of them as contacts and am always checking out their new photos - something to aspire to! It's especially interesting to see if they have photos from a show I was also at (since I can remember the lighting conditions and how challenging it was to shoot). Sometimes it's difficult to tell just how good someone is because obviously people have different cameras and other equipment which can give a massive distinction in the kind of quality they are able to capture. Someone with a 4-5 megapixel compact is not generally gonna be able to get the same detail as someone with £2000 worth of SLR and lenses so I always try to take that into account and not get too downheartened. Also someone walking around the press pit and shooting from various angles at their own leisure has it a bit easier than someone trying to focus whilst get smacked about in a mosh pit. ;D Hopefully I am getting myself a Canon 30D ( photo.net/equipment/canon/30D/) before the end of the year and then I'll be able to go and try to compete with the big boys (and girls) ;D My little Sony is dear to my heart but it just doesn't cut the mustard in the trickier conditions and I find that very frustrating! I'm also hoping having professional looking gear might help me blag the odd press/photo pass now and then.. Well you've gottta try, eh?

Finally saw Cube! It was on Channel 5 the other night. I did enjoy it and thought it was quite original. The only thing that let it down for me was that the personalities of the characters were all a bit exaggerated. That cop was a headcase! Overall though, it was good and certainly much better than half the generic crap around! Okay, i only just saw this today. Right, well now no matter how tempted DON'T watch the sequels! Especially if you found the personalities of the characters in the first film a little exaggerated... I do know what you mean about the personalities, tho i think it's partly due to the film having to be a bit short since it was very much a student film made with 'proper actors'. The personalities become so exaggerated because they've supposedly been in there for so long that their bodies are beginning to shut down and their darker personality-traits are showing themselves (as is all too common when a group of people are put into hopeless situations). I actually really liked the way the actor played the cop, tho it's very obvious that they could only afford tv level actors rather than movie actors. Loved the ending tho (won't say anything in case someone reads this and then sees the film only to remember what i've said ) - it was a brave decision, and one that the sequels completely failed to understand and so ruined. Now you need to try Cypher, by the same director (still working on limited funds alas, so prepare to laugh at badly CGI'ed helicopters... ). Oh, and a film completely unrelated that everyone should see at least once in their life: Bubba Ho-Tep! After you've seen it you'll be saying "Thank'yaaa... Thank'yaaa verrry much!". ;D *Adds Cypher and Bubba Ho-Tep to mental list of films to watch* * looks forward to badly CGI'ed helicopters* ;D

* Land of The Dead : www.landofthedeadmovie.netzombies lovers won't be disapointed. it's gross, fun, plus it has a great cast. who can get enough of zombies anyway? Not me! I've got the DVD ready to watch some time in the next few days! Need to catch up on the old classics at some point too... Oh...Land of the Dead. It was good but wasn't it really short? Had a bit of a dumb ending too in my opinion but overall pretty fun. Wow my film reviews are pretty comprehensive, eh?

The Motorcycle Diaries : www.motorcyclediariesmovie.com/This is just gorgeous, both the scene shots and the story.... really inspiring. It's also peppered with great humour ;D Based on a true life story, The Motorcycle Diaries is an inspiring and thrilling adventure that traces the youthful origins of a revolutionary spirit. The film follows two daring friends, Ernesto "Che" Guevara (Gael GarcBernal, Y Tu Mamambi and Alberto Granado (Rodrigo de la Serna), who hop on the back of a beat-up motorcycle for a breathtaking and exciting road trip across Latin America. From executive producer Robert Redford and acclaimed director Walter Salles (Central Station) comes a life-changing journey that critics are hailing as "Magnificent!" (Peter Travers, Rolling Stone)And ladies, if you don't fall in love with Che.... I REALLY want to see this!
