I've loved what I have heard. I just haven't had a chance to get to the record store yet! It's been over a week...I'm in new music withdraw!

You may enjoy this new Canadian band, I sure do! Their singer is obviously a big Chan Marshall fan (she especially reminds me of the Moon Pix era), but never feels completely derivative. There is a bit of Metric in there as well (I think its the keyboard work that makes me say that). Anyway, here is the MySpace link should anyone be interested! www.myspace.com/janevainsmusic

It has been fun to read the thread that Juanita started about everyone's favorite song of the day. At any given time I have my song obsessions and my full length album addictions as well, So I started this thread. Right now I can't get enough of the new one from M83. It makes me think of 80s pop music, but it really isn't quite like anything done before. Great sunny spring day music. I want to frolic in an open field or something. (preferably wearing one of those hats the girl on the cover has) What is your "album of the moment"?

Yup, true story.
I'm convinced that Carlsburg has a special ingredient that not only makes you drunk, but also completely obnoxious. At the time, I was sure that since Backfield had failed to keep my attention that it was completely appropriate to stumble next door and see what Regina was up to. Of course, not having a ticket, that didn't last long...

Metric - Combat Baby but it's about to end...ok now... Prince - Black Sweat good sir, I must say you have exquisite taste...I wish I could say I just listened to those two songs. In reality however I have listened to this crap: This Is the Day by The The What Have I Done To Deserve This? by Pet Shop Boys

i like all of her stuff. soviet kitsch is my fav i think... Great disc no doubt. My fav as well... I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that I was bounced from a Spektor concert at the London Astoria. I tried to sneak in after the Blackfield show at Mean Fidler (next door) got really boring.

Blonde Redhead - S.W. 23 is an amazing album. Amazing indeed...I love when the horns come in around 1:50 in that song. What is really exceptional about that record for me is how adventurous and cutting edge the whole thing is, but yet so easy to listen to again and again. I'm listening to Jeep Song by The Dresden Dolls such a conventional sounding song for them...but so fun!

I finally have the whole thing. Bought the CD version they released in North America a few weeks ago. Awesome stuff...if he can keep this up he could be the Eno of his generation. What an exciting new direction for NIN!

^ Cool, thanks Matt! YES, Neighborhood #1 is fantastic... I haven't heard a single song I don't like... amazing. Yup Yup, the debut EP is even amazing. They had a much simpler and smaller sound back then, but still great stuff... I'm now listening to Landmines by St. Vincent

Oh! Fun thing to think about Franklin...
Let's see, 15 years ago I would be discovering the Beatles. Until I was about 13 I rejected the Beatles as "old" and never gave them a chance. I was listening to all the 90s alt rock (Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, etc.) who ironically owed so much to the Fab4. Around then I made a huge change and became a full fledged Beatlemaniac. That launched me into my nothing but classic rock phase that probably lasted until about age 17 when I bought the Great Expectations Soundtrack and became interested in modern music again. Actually, about this time 10 years ago I was out washing my car when Y100 would debut the new Tori Amos single "Spark" and the rest as they say is history...
